I am pretty sure both the Predator and the Duramax also have forced air fans on the front panel just like the one the Genmax has... but I agree there are other VALUABLE features the Genmax has that the others don't (like the back exhaust and the oil filter... the oil filter is almost unbelievable!!!).
@JavierRivera2 жыл бұрын
Hi. You are right. I did a research and both predator 9500 and Duromax XP9000iH also have forced air conditioning. Now. In my opinion. The design of the Genmax is a better one. Why? Because the air flow in one direction, front to back where exit and with the other 2 generator the air find flow resistance by having to bounce on the back of the unit until found it’s way out through the side of the unit.

Nice video, though I'd make 1 correction, this is the warranty statement for the Predator - "We guarantee the emissions control system on your engine will be free from defects in material and workmanship for two (2) years, provided there has been no improper maintenance, misuse, or abuse of your engine. We guarantee this product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 90 days from the date of purchase. Limitations apply." SO no the warranty is not 2 years for t"he Generator, just the "emissions control system" is warrantied for 2 years. The generator is only warrantied for 90 days.....just a heads up

@@JavierRivera You can of course buy the 1 or 2 year warranty from Harbor Freight when purchasing though, which if you do puts the price on this one way above all the other ones. I'm not a fan of Harbor Freight for stuff like this.....that's a rip off purchase. If you make a claim on the purchased 2 year warranty and get a new one....guess what you have to buy another 2 year warranty the one you exchange out or the warranty is up. Only covers one replacement. And the 2 year on that is like $650 or $550 can't remember ut it's a lot.

Hello Javier -- enjoyed all your videos -- especially those dealing with the Genmax. I noticed you had to change out the display because it was not maintaining the cumulative runtime. Do you know if that has been corrected on later production models? Do you know the date your unit was produced? Thanks!

I don’t know for sure but if there’s still units for sale with defective displays Genmax will send you a new display. My point is that Genmax is taking care of their customers. A good news is that Genmax changed their USA support to another company that is very responsive compared with the previous one.

Both the Duromax and and Predator are now selling for about $1,950, so each is now about $250 cheaper. Your other points are valid, but the Duromax runs on propane as well and that’s huge for me. I’m redoing my generator setup (backup power) and the last thing I ever want to have to do again is find gas, bring it back in my car, have my car smelling like gas for a week, getting gas on yourself as you fill it up, yuck, no thanks.

Hello, is the noise level as quiet as the Predator? Part of the sales pitch for the Predator is its low noise at 25% load. Too bad it is not sold in California. Looks like I would need to buy it from our Arizona home and then haul it back to our California home. I am sure I won’t get hassled using it in California. Maybe a home insurance issue if the machine somehow causes property damage? Otherwise I don’t know what would prohibit me from using it in California? I appreciate your product discussion.
@JavierRivera2 жыл бұрын
Hello, the Predator is 67 dB, and the Genmax is 62 dB; I do not think you will be able to tell the difference is only a 5 dB difference. Yesterday I went to an event, and one of the food trucks had a Predator 9500, and I can say that the noise was the same. Both are very quiet. Genmax is building a GM900iEDc to meet the CARB regulations (California Air Resources Board), but I do not know when it will be available; it is expected this year, and that is what I was told.
@lionelgarcia23862 жыл бұрын
@@JavierRivera Hello, I see the Genmax is a relatively quiet as well. Good to know. I appreciate your insight regarding a new model for California. Hope it arrives this year, and hope it will be dual fuel. I now know more about this and fuel powered generators in general than I did before. Thank you for your videos. I am between a fuel generator and a battery powered system like the Bluetti. Benefits to both. Batteries are easy to maintain, no noise and no fuss with maintenance. But they are expensive. With fuel I will need to maintain, and deal with the accompanying products and issues to setup and run during an emergency. Either way I need to man up with the cash, or effort to maintain. But at least I now know of the best portable generator. Not sure yet I would want to go the Generac route. Permanent placement being the issue. Could be a long run from where I would be able to place it. Thanks again.

Hello again. Any info regarding propane or gas run times, i.e. necessary size of tanks to run at least a week? Family down two weeks at recent hurricane Cape Coral FL. Thank you.
@JavierRivera2 жыл бұрын
Hi. That is very difficult to test. All depends of how many watts and for how long. When I connected to my house and I had the 2 air conditioner running, refrigerator running and anything else that is normally connected the generator generates 4800w but when the ac stop run with 580w. So my point is that load varies from time to time during the day. On the manual it says full gas tank 14hrs at 25% load that is 1,800w. Also fuel consumption rate at 100% load is 4.3 liter per hour = 6 hours.

Hello. I did because there are others 9000w generators also dual fuel. I just wanted to point out the things that other generators are missing in comparison to the Genmax GM9000iEd.
@trustme77312 жыл бұрын
Nice comparison. 1. The Genmax website says its a splash system. "Model GM9000iED Lubrication Method Splash" A filter requires a pressurized system. So, which is it? 2. When paralleled you are still limited to a 50 amp circuit, not 63 amps. 3. Your has a 50 amp straight blade receptacle and their website shows and says only a 50 amp twist lock. I wonder if they had a problem with the straight blade plugs falling out.
@JavierRivera2 жыл бұрын
1. GM9000iED is forced lubrication. 2. When paralleled you are still limited to a 50 amp,but you can still use the other sockets to get the full power. Because we currently can only find 50amp socket. 3. 50amp socket is straight blade receptable. I have no problem with it. It feels secure and tight.
