GGG was probably the best fighter in the division at this point but his management team though Felix Sturm & Sebastian Zbik were the better investment. I wonder how they felt when he left for America and a lengthy HBO fight deal. You can see the class he was in and his relentless offense is so fan friendly. GGG one of the last of a dying breed. We got nothing in the pipeline lined up for his replacement on the entertainment scale.

Golovkin's foul has always been his "slow way of accepting punches" As in forgetting the point system to prove he can take the shot. Canelo fight for sure, but that's not how you win. He has several fights like that winning on points and on late t.k.o Wish him all the best and if the system was less corrupted... who knows...

All Simon’s weight is on his back foot & his ankles looked weak. He’d benefit from more weight training in the legs rather than all upper body. Then he’d be less flat-footed & more stable, allowing him better timing & power.

Just a thought. It seems to me that all European audiences sit as if they are watching a waltz exhibition while Americans really exhibit real enthusiasm watching the fight. Could explain real differences in the two cultures.

maybe German, but UK audience is raucous. Same for Eastern European ones. This isn't the fight to judge that on

Japanese audiences are REALLY quiet. Watch Tyson-Tubbs or Tyson Douglas and they sound almost like fights during the 2020 lockdowns.

Good performance by golovkin but unfortunately he doesn’t fight this way right now at 35 y old .. the power might still be there but not the speed , he had much better movement and speed back then with better combination of 2s and 3s even 4s .. he’s still an amazing fighter with much experience but he is on a decline skill wise.

He still has what it takes to beat Canelo if he can maintain the endurance and avoid Canelos fast jabs and hooks. Without the steroids Canelo has lost some muscle/power.

The way he used to fight would not have been marketable in the US No big show, no big money. Boxing as a sport and as entertainment are 2 different things I prefer his older version though

Of course. He's been shelved by Golden Boy for being too good and beating boxing's cash cow easily in GGG Alvarez 1 . Easy 8-4 . Terrible judges. Bought and paid

Eh I don’t see it I just watched his latest fight in the bubble and he looks the exact same even in the face and he took care of that ‘better fighter than this Simon guy’ quite easily

Moving toward Golovkin seemed to yield some results for the challenger. Usually Golovkin is the one always moving forward, cutting off the ring. Something for Canelo to put in his back pocket?

Apparently taking roids and peds was Canelo s choice rather then boxing.

Those had been times when ggg had body and head movements, was light on his feet and used the whole ring. But than came Sanchez and turned him on one dimensional, go forward type of a fighter.
