I believe a future version of Genos will be even more expressive from what master sound designer Kyoko Ohno said about having two Genos players performing from the same instrument and same sounds but somehow sounding different… like an open world video game but with a single voice/tone/patch 🤯🔮🎹✨you can do it! 🙌🏻

Manythanks to yamaha, Martin, team and musicians that create such wonderful instrument. I come from organ era that has almost disappeared in EU and have been using all of them since the PSR series exists. I'm also impressed to see the high stability that yamaha offers to his employees, as we can see Martin since a very long time (decades). This is surely a key of success! Long life and continue to bring to us pleasure. ❤🎉

10:20 No Mr. Harris, you are wrong. You did not set up all sounds the way I need. It is the flagship keyboard and you do not allow proper sound editing. So what is the reason? Too much effort to do the documentation (on Korg PA5x the sound editing docs is a multiple of the whole Genos 2 documentation)? Why can't I load my DX7 sounds or program it? Why can't I properly edit the styles on Yamaha's own Cubase DAW? This is the real painpoint of the Genos2 which you totally missed in bringing the keyboard to the next level! Another important flaw in planning the Genos2 is ignoring the importance of synthesized sounds in current music. I appreciate the deep deatiled reproduction of natural instruments, but I need to play modern music of the 2020s. So without proper access to sound editing it is difficult to play today's music. And last but not least: Don't underestimate the capabilities of Yamaha musicians. The can program sounds, they can create styles if you just would let them do it.

I've been a Yamaha customer since I was a kid. Currently, I own too many Yamaha products, including guitars, mixers, Montage m8x, Montage 8, Genos2 Really enjoyed playing Genos2 by far, and it's a very great successor to the iconic Genos, I also own a korg pa5x and I should admit that when it comes to acoustic sounds, the Genos2 is definitely the king, thanks Yamaha for creating this incredible machine which is in my opinion, the best home keyboard ever!!

What bothers me about the G2 is the styles are so different and inconsistent - in a bad way. Some are clearly brought over from the pre-tyros era, mostly revoiced but sounds very outdated. Some seem like the production was rushed, missing a lot of texture and seem "hollow". And then there are a handfuld that are really top notch, high quality, perfectly mixed and very detailed. But lets not forget that Yamaha decreased the storage space from 500 GB to 58 GB and now 15 GB. What a joke. Wonder how much storage Genos 3 will have, we will probably have to dust off our floppies again.

So all these guys that are experts, never took the time to look the market and se how a great instrument like this can have a sequencer? After so many years of development they didnt even learn whats wrong with the first version of Genos? Many will say that its an arranger but Yamaha claims its a workstation. How can you call something a workstation when you render the user almost incapable of sequencing music on it? Even a small groovebox of 150 euros has better features to help someone create music on it. Now I am trying to sell my Genos 1 (I really cant find anyone to buy this expenssive instrument in Greece). If I dont get it to be sold, I will keep it for its superb sound, but I will have to buy extra gear (maybe a groovebox or anything from Roland) to create my music tracks.

After watching and listening to several video reviews when Genos2 was first launched. There are no sounds that appeal to us keyboardists in their 30s, it seems like the Genos2 was created just for keyboardists in their 50s. Then after watching this video, it's not surprising, it turns out that the founders are all parents 😂
@konstantinoskarentzos99679 ай бұрын
I bought yamaha genos 4 years ago. I waited for an update to give this instrument a decent or even a bearable sequencer but nothing. Even with Genos 2.0 firmaware update you did nothing on that. You can even export multitrack so we can export our creation and mix it properly on a DAW. I really dont understand how a flagship “wprkstation”doesnt have a reall sequencer. You can only do midi/audio recording and step edit the midi messages which is like trying to create chiptunes music but even harder. You now have Genos version 2, so I dont believe that we all the owners of the first version will get any new firmware with new features. I really try to sell my keyboard to get anything from AKAI or even ROLAND Fantom or even a small stand alone groovebox in order to be able to produce music DAWless. Please forward a message to product managers to hep them understand that a workstation means DAWLess production and with Genos or even montage this is not possible at all.

Intern the Genos 2 is amazing , but that Italian designer must fired for a designd change i could made in a half hour , We ( Genos users) asked years for a compact design an a tilted screen and a better case , a better screen and they replace the perfect Oled sub screen , strange ?

Yamaha need to update genos 2 not in the future but now , first the string sound on genos 2 are the worst i ever hear on any keyboard , the lack of modern synth sound is absurd the lack of modern style is so bad that they put the same old style form the tyros , they put a ridiculous price of 6 thousand dolar for a key tkeboard that not change from the tyros . And before i forget they don bring smooth sound transition something that korg pax5 have and is something that bring live to the music . Genos 2 is not and upgrade is a big downgrade.

this keyboard is great but the price has fallen catastrophically and I don't think it's fair that some of us paid almost 800€ more than you can get it today... an international store in the Czech Republic sells it for 3999€

no new feature/function added, corny style, cheap and low plastic body, so called 'workstation' but can not edit the sound, a high price toy just for retire old people. it sucks. i do know old people are nostalgic for 30s 40s 50s 60s 80s, but i just wonder when the oldies pass away, who will pay for it ? an instrument made in 2024 but the core is 30s 40s 50s inside? ridiculous

I have to be honest and say that as far as design of Genos 2 is a bit disappointing…. It is the same look from Genos 1. For the individuals who only use their own samples Genos 2 is not on the same leve compared to other brands. FM samples from original DX7 are great … but edit option is not included….. may I ask why we can’t use portamento on INTRO section in style creator?!? And on the end; weight of the instrument is increased which makes it very costly for musicians like me who travel by plane to gigs. I hope this will be addressed in next Genos 3. Thank you

Genos 2 is pretty much polished to the perfection of the original Genos! As a studio engineer, I can tell how more realistic the sounds are now. Overall, the sound is more stereolized, and I would say much closer to Dolby Atmos sounding. I believe the Yamaha engineers are moving in that direction to have a Dolby Atmos sound soon.
