I think the best way to enjoy a gatcha is to just say f*** it to the meta and pull who you want. All the characters are good enough to complete the stuff that matters and the harder content typically only needs a meta team or two. Plus, you never know when a new character will make older characters more relevant. The power creep is a little annoying though, especially when we don’t even have a full roster of character elements and path combinations yet, *Cough cough* ice abundance, a bunch in preservation, etc. At least give us a full roster before you start power creeping.

As i always say : Be like me, pull because of pure attraction or for collection I made myself sure to have all characters that make me say would (Jing Yuan and DHIL were the first ones, with DHIL being E6), and all the foxians I will pull for Sunday and Fugue because i love them both and i waited for them THE WHOLE PENACONY

It’s funny that Luocha gave off “Goody Two-Shoes” vibes, a “luocha” is a rakshasha, like a kind of demon in Buddhism and Hinduism that eats people. In Honkai Impact 3rd, it was one character’s nickname for a man named Otto Apocalypse who certainly Does Things in that game

Honestly most character trailers before 2.0 were mid af by Hoyo standards, with the only notable exception being Kafka, so it's not surprising.

@@crazykim most yes, but not only kafkas - huohuo, argenti, blade dhil and fu xuan also had amazing trailers. And you are saying by hoyo standarts - which standarts exactly? Before mid of 2023 i'd argue their trailers for other games werent as good as for HSRs in 2023. Genshins trailers are just plain boring, before Furinas trailer came out i can remember only Archons trailers to be actually 'not mid'

@@louisarnebQP Visually they look quite nice still, problem with HSR'S 1.x trailers is mostly that a lot of the music was uninspired and frankly way below average Hoyo quality. Blade, Dhil and Fu Xuan are perfect examples of looking quite nice but being bogged down by it's music, and also were worse at conveying what the characters even were about (basically to an outsider it's just edgy china man, cool china man, cool china girl),frankly to the point where they made me less excited for the characters. Don't even get me started on Jingliu, that one just straight up made me skip her. Honestly it's also not just trailers, HSR's Xianzhou music in general is just worse than most anything else they've put out in terms of areas in every game including HSR itself, way below the thematic equivalent of Liyue in Genshin. From the top of my head Genshin trailers pre-Furina that were, albeit not necessarily as visually good (in part because Star Rails models just have a higher graphical fidelity), these were better thematically, musically and character wise than most of 1.x HSR trailers; Klee, Hu Tao, Albedo, Kazuha, Yoimiya, Itto, Yao Miko, Yelan, Collei, Tighnari, Candace, Cyno, Nilou, Faruzan, Wanderer, Alhaitam, Dehya, Lyney, Neuvilette, maaaybe Wriothsley. Hell as a direct comparison, Xiao who's trailer I'm not that fond of, while not as good looking as Blade's (both edgy china man) has more iconic music and does a better job at characterizing. Not even counting the Archons by the way because apart from Venti's they really all blow most of 1.X HSR out of the water. It's also worth noting that Genshins were actually demos demonstrating their gameplay, while HSR's focused purely on the cinematic trailer aspect (and showed off the ult I guess).

Not gonna lie, I feel that you would have been a good fit for Rappa's English VA. You got the spontaneous outbursts, the energy, the goofiness. I also think you'd be able to pull off her rapping. (and I'm saying this as someone who only plays in JP) Can't wait to see your reaction to the return of the OG foxian, Tingyun, or Fugue as she calls herself now.

The main issues with Yanqing is that he is Single Target only and a large part of his damage comes from not getting hit... EVER, if he takes any damage it's a damage loss. Dan Heng: Imbibitor Lunae, isn't exactly a starting character. There's Dan Heng who is a starter 4-star character, then there is Dan Heng: Imbibitor Lunae which is basically a completely different character, he looks a little different, has a different Element and follows a different path. So technically not the same character. Blade wants to die, but waa cursed with immortality. Actually all those candles at the end of his trailer represent someone that likely died by his sword except the last one that flickers but doesn't burn out that one represents himself Acheron is far from being Keqing, she is basically the Raiden Mei of this game

Firefly's trailer spoils a big moment that catches many people off guard and is not something you can forget (due to being out of context or whatever). There's no point to watching it.

Until you realize that it doesn't matter since there are plethora of ways of seeing her playable in the game, from the character Data Bank, to strangers/friends support units to just straight up a rerun that will likely be coming in a few patches no doubt.

@@Draxeid a rerun is the only thing that would spoil it without specifically clicking on something that relates to Firefly. It's just her face on most menus. If you don't want spoilers, you can easily avoid it and get the reveal as we did on release.

@@xenolim08 It just isn't though... source: me. I watched Yunli trailer going back into star rail and had no clue that was what Hoolay would be. Meanwhile Firefly is a really really big reveal that nobody knew for a whole version (with some theories). Hoolay's reveal is literally in his own version same quest same day.

Several other trailers could be considered as spoilers, I agree, but it’s ultimately their choice whether to watch them or not. Kai was just going off of chat, which is completely fair and understandable considering they know very little about the game. Hope this helps provide you with some insight!
