This literally explains Kaeya Alberich so well. I think not many people understands the drama between Kaeya and Collei and many started hating him for that. I don't have an explanation because I always keep correcting my theories on why he did that XD but I can at least confirm that it was because of some level of trauma. Think of it. If Kaeya had no trauma, that scene would've made no sense. He wouldn't have tried to kill her in the first place, because his skepticism and his untrust wouldn't exist. He would've waited for more concrete evidence, instead of jumping to conclusions. And how he said "That was just plain boring"? *He literally almost died.* Bruh, this guy is literally suicidal at this point. Sure, some may say that it was cause Collei "accepted her fate". But he was shocked when she said "Just kill me". He wasn't expecting that at all. Either that or maybe Collei's line triggered something in him. I feel like these throwaway phrases are a way for Kaeya to cope with such events. For example, he said "The world is interesting" or smth like that when Crepus died. Along with a smirk. I have theorized before this was cause Kaeya cracked. And even if this isn't right, we all know for a fact that he hides behind a beautiful mask. I think I've explained enough. Oh wow. I was literally only going to write that this vid was amazing and then add a few sentences to it.... Wow. I wrote way too much. Ehe, sorry. XD

I feel like Kaeya saw himself in Collei, a kid given too much burden and secrets for their age. From his own experience, he knows that the longer you keep hiding the worse it becomes, so by attacking her, he made Collei face the truth and nudge her towards a decisions. And in the end Collei made a decision and was thus freed. Unfortunatly Kaeya's decision isn't that easy, there's no right or wrong and either one has bad and good consecenses.

Ugh my baby. He's so unbelievably traumatized and people play it down so much. They say Diluc had it worse... clearly, they've never read ANYTHING about Kaeya. He was abandoned to be a spy for a dead nation at what, five? by his father. Grew up loving his new family and had it all ripped away from him. He's stuck between the nation he loves and his 'father's' last wish for him before he left. His brother tried to FRICKING KILL HIM. THAT'S NOT SOMETHING YOU GET OVER! There's a very good chance he has consistent nightmares, and we know he drinks to numb that pain. He lives with a permanent reminder of that night on his hip, and not only that, but his Vision very likely tears him apart further. Not only is it just a little different from a normal Mond Vision, but aren't Visions their free tickets to Celestia? A son of Khaenri'ah, meant for the dwelling of the gods? Haha, what? He offers a shoulder to cry on in the teapot because he desperately needs one. No one even celebrates his birthday with him. He offers to drink with you instead. He can't even take a walk by himself because it'll cause him to spiral, alone, and he *can't.* Give my baby a hug, please. He needs it.

dude i just noticed (or maybe im stupid and didnt) that kaeya's eyes only had the lil shines of white reflections when he pushed diluc out the way so he died instead. damn. that broke my heart as someone who loves kaeya and his lore

I think the current Kaeya wasn't the same Kaeya as before Crepus's death He probably absorbed Diluc's old cheery personality for the sake of coping with his trauma and stuff I heard this was an unhealthy coping mechanism but I can't say much since I only hear about it Really hope more shall be revealed soon by Hoyo :(
