The ending had my heart melt. You can tell that it isn't just the change of clothes. The Wanderer is much more at ease and free... Technically Scaramouche did ascended at the end of Sumeru's Archon quest....just not the way the Balladeer had expected it... he didn't ascend as a god.... but something even better: no responsibility to godhood or to anyone. No strings attached.
