I made a mistake in this video and said that "Melusines are a part of Chinese folklore" and what I meant to say was European Folklore. I believe I only said Chinese because of where I currently am in my playthrough (Liyue) so I had it in the brain. My bad for sounding VERY wrong there, but I assure you that I'm not completely clueless. I've talked plenty about Fontaine and it's French/Europeon aesthetic and inspiration in past videos. XD Anyway. Cool Collected Miscellany, am I right? Neuvillette POV was a nice switch up. :)

I had to do a doubletake when I first saw this trailer because I was, like you, expecting to hear Dainsleif. But yeah, it makes sense that Neuvillette would be the one talking about Sigewinne. I love how he stays in his usual kind of formal tone but you can also hear 'doting papa' in what he says. I also imagine his VA had to have had fun recording this. And I love that this both let us learn something more about Sigewinne but also we learned some more about Neuvillette.

Ray Chase (I think that's his name) did a great job at conveying all the things you said. I approve and want more of this kind of thing in the future with other character Collected Miscellanies. It makes sense that characters who know each other would be the ones to share info about them. :)

Ray Chase has such a soft and subtle voice. Really fits him well for a father figure like Neuvillette and pronounce words like "bubble" :D

Great video as always, Mister Roshi. Regarding the link that you have found between Neuvillette's and Arlechino's view of parenting, this is very interesting. You will see during your playthrough in Fontaine that the Melusines are very special creatures, which might explain the unsettling feeling you speak of. Also, I might be mistaken, but I think that you said that Melusines might be part of Chinese folklore. In that case, as far as I am aware, they are part of Western European folklore, and they might even come from France. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me ! Sorry for any grammar or spelling mistakes, English is not my native language. I'll be waiting for your next video ! Until then, have a very pleasant day !

Oh God. You're absolutely right. It is European folklore. They're supposed to be female fresh water spirits and I KNEW that but I think I've been in Liyue for so long my brain just auto switched to say Chinese instead. The word Melusine doesn't even sound Chinese.... OOPS. XD

I was beginning to think you'd forgotten about this! But I'm happy you checked it out! I'm super happy with Sigewinne I unexpectedly got her only a single pull away from Clorende so In the end I got every character in this update haha, Sigewinne is an awesome addition to my teams and favorite characters. Unfortunately the community seems to disagree because for some reason people think healer=bad but I've pulled nearly every single one and I can't get enough of them! Loved hearing Neuvillette talk about her, it's awesome how much our perception of him changes with each thing we learn about him, I can imagine an alternative reality where the Knave voiced the trailers for the siblings which would've been sick! I'd love to see more myscellany's like this, closely related characters talking about each other is cute!

I agree I think it'd be cool if they switched up the narrations for the Collected Miscellanies more often if it fits the character, etc. As far as people complaining about a healer... Sounds like singular brain cell behavior to me. OUG OUG WHERE MY DPS!? XD I welcome all play-styles.

Sometimes I forget you're not caught up. Man, you're gonna have so much fun playing this game. There are certain important world quest that You'll start seeing once you get to Inazuma. Do consider recording your playthrough of them and turning them into videos. For instance the Melusine lore is one of these in Fontaine. You'll know when you've gotten such a quest because it'll have a similar starting card as Archon and Character story quests and will appear like them (but a bit differently) in the quest menu.

Speaking of parenting, you see that all over Liyue with Zhongli and the people of Liyue. I won't spoil any more than this and I hope you're having a fun time in your playthrough. ☺☺☺

i really wish sigewinne looked more like a melusine even if there is a lore reason for it

I hard agree with this. She's still cute but damn... It'd be nice. It would require them to make a new kind of base model and uh... Doubt they'd want to put the time and energy into that. It's kinda sad. :')
