The story, written using Genshin terms. The Unknown Goddess was taken over by her evil split personality, barely managed to regain herself thank to the sacrifice of the Pyro Archon. Inspired by her teacher, she gained the mental strength to take control of her power. Unfortunately her lover the Raiden Shogun and her had a fight because her guilt has been causing Unknown Goddess to be suicidal. Then Kazuha mother got her body taken over and together they fought off the possessing personality. Kazuha's mom officially joined the 'totally not Kiana's harem' club. The God presiding over Puppets attacked everyone and was winning, but with power of friendship (~~and yuri~~) Unknown Goddess managed to gather the power of cryo, electro, anemo, before finally inheriting the seat of Pyro Archon in addition to her original power. Together they Sailor Moon'ed the poor Puppet God by stabbing it in the face.

Honestly this story is a masterpiece, it's just a slow burn before chapter 9 where it really takes off. Also "it's kazuha"... I'm trying my best not to scream that Phoenix Fu Hua has been around for much longer and is the design Kazuha is based off... 6:57 - Fan-service has always been a thing in early miHoYo games since their target demographic are males. The fanservice in Honkai is actually toned down compared to their previous games but its still there every now and then OmO 11:28 - Her name is Himeko Murata and in Genshin lore, Murata is the pyro archon so.... 33:15 - They have an anime series and it is up to 2 seasons now but it is all about cooking and the relationships between the characters. 40:23 - miHoYo has the history of reusing the same design or model for characters in their game OmO Genshin has significantly higher revenue compared to Honkai but the animation in Honkai seems to be of a higher tier, makes you wonder where does Genshin's money go to. (This is a joke OmO both animations are good in their own way) Also, they released another animation during this 2022 which is called "Thus Spoke Apocalypse" which was not included there. Additionally, they actually have a lot of stuff yo can react to. As mentioned earlier, there's the anime series about cooking called "Cooking with Valkyries" which has 2 seasons, there's also the Version PV's which are essentially just trailers for updates, and Honkai Chronicles which are four videos featuring the general story of the game and the overview of the story of the characters. More additions, there's also these "Chibi Videos"/"Web Events"/"Animation Skits" that are pretty cute and shows interactions between the characters off-screen or off the main story. I haven't really watched them all and the only thing I'm sure is related to the main story is the "Seele's One Day Adventure" and "Mobius' Lab". I don't know if the others are part of the canon story so I'm not gonna recommend them. In the case you watched a version where there are no voiceover, just search for the Chinese version since the Japanese one really has no dub. Anyways, this is all from me! I’m not a big fan of the translation for seele calling bronya “sister”, I know it’s the literal translation from “onee sama”, which is what seele calls her, but I gives off the wrong idea since they are, in fact, dating.. they even have a canonical kiss in the azure waters manga, and it would be kinda weird if they were sisters lol. Bronya short, like Reburn, not canon 6. Dual Ego, chapter 12 cutscene, the end of the Bronya arc 7. Amazing Grace, chapter 11EX cutscene, Kiana overcomes her literal inner demon, Sirin, and moves forward 8. Meteoric Salvation, chapter 14 cutscene, Kiana saves a city 9. Chapter 15 short, watching it with full context hits differently 10. You missed: Pre-Revelations new ark trailer Thus Spoke Apocalypse Reburn 2 Winter Memories And there's a lot of other interesting stuff like version and character trailers, Operation Center chapers (they are about lore and characters story, basically most of game story packed in those things)/ What you need to watch from Chronicles is Honkai Operational Center Part One. Also there's trailers for APHO and Elysian Realm, maybe even for Star Rail. And Cooking with Valkyries anime as well as ELF Academy anime, but this better watch if you know the game at least a little.

There are so many more heartwrenching cutscenes apart from the big cinematics that get overlooked because the movies are more easily accessible. The part with Cecilia, the entire chapter 11EX, the Herrscher Mei boss fight, the epitome of emotional brutality that is The Day You Vanished With The Stars event. Watching all these reactors it's easy to forget that there are memorable events in between the cinematics, as spectacular as those are. And the part in Everlasting Flames that makes me tear up is when Kiana becomes HoF, there's so much hype and emotion there, finally victory and closure after all the suffering. TBH I sob to most of the cinematics but for different reasons lol.

16:49 The situation involving Himeko, (the female Diluc), is quite complex. This is a very very basic Summary. Prior to the Theater of Domination arc, her death was never officially confirmed, and her story didn't conclude with her passing. In the last animated short you watched, titled "Everlasting Flames," Kina encounters part of Himeko's Sentience within the Gem of Desire and inherits her flame before Himeko dissipates within the flames. This arc serves as confirmation of Himeko's demise. Btw, the animated shorts are actually ingae´me cutscenes that are shown at the end of chapters. They don't fully capture the context and therefore the extent of emotional depth. It is within these chapters and event stories that you'll encounter most of the feels. If you decide to play the game be prepared to feel feels 38:16 nope, it is a dessert. Probably Africa or something. No Joke.

In the lore of HI3 there was a project called Ark and its purpose was to save the memories of humanity incase the honkai ever succeeded in whipping out humanity. iirc, It fell into the sea of quanta which is like a gateway to other worlds and created another world in a different dimension. The ones who made it were from the previous era that were eradicated by the honkai. In the previous era they also had a Kiana, mei, bronya, seele, and himeko. Fu hua and kevin are the exception because they survived that extinction lvl and are over 50,000 years old. Teyvat is speculated to be the recreation of humamity (project ark) so in that sense a lot of the characters in genshin looking like the characters in honkai would make sense. There was even an easter egg where otto was observing one of these bubble universes and he saw Stormterror.

Kiana is the main character of Honkai but unlike Lumine or Aether, she is actually part of the story and is already known by the characters. In addition, in different chapters or arcs, the story will have a certain 'main character' in which it will focus on them.

heyo! always great to see players of genshin discovering and enjoying themselves within the honkai universe! although it might all be very confusing now and all, but i think you'll enjoy the game immensely. (especially since the character obtaining system in honkai is a lot better than genshin, and take this from someone who's been playing honkai since it's early days haha-) also yeah honkai used to be very fanservice-y but it has definitely toned down to an extent in the recent years, although all playable characters are female unfortunately. but if you enjoy looking at pretty ladies do their thing, then honkai shouldn't be too much of a bother for you :) either way, great to see you're enjoying the cinematics and all, hope to see you come aboard soon future captain :) p.s. the story is pretty gripping so prepare for tears galore aha- edit: also since you asked, yes there is a PC port for Honkai which should be very convenient for you :)

Honkai is a great game, as far as mobile games go. One of the best. MiHoyo actually put some work into it, and it's rare nowdays. While story is nothing special, game is Carried by it's characters. And Kiana's journey is insane. That's why she is one of the best written characters i know. And it's totally worth playing the game just for story itself. I plaid Honkai for over 2 years, and i have utter respect for MiHoyo. Throwing so much resources into cinematic, would make any Anime studio jealous. It looks absolutely amazing, songs engaging and they even allow Voice actors sing those songs like "Everlasting flames", and they even work with CGI, which is, considered taboo in Anime. Also some Voice Actors were crying while recording their lines, showing that they are invested in this as much as we are

I began playing it again a few days ago and i'm blown away by both the cinematics and the game, there's so much content that i really don't know where to begin sometimes not to mention all the free characters that are all so much fun to play! I honestly can't wait to level up eneugh to continue the story :)

a litle explanation about that giant robot on the second video , that robot is a representation of a mecha on that universe that comes from an anime/manga that Siegfried(kiana father) is really into , thats why she cried and is strugling to destroy it , its pretty much the last memory of his father and her destroying that memory to grow up.

Honkai Impact was the project of Chairman and President, Director and CEO and the vice president of Mihoyo. Genshin Impact was a project by another team inside Mihoyo. Fun Fact: Kiana was their first character she appears in Mihoyo first game "Fly me to the moon."

You might wonder why Genshin and Honkai have different animation style. Because both are done by separate developers, despite in one company. Honkai was done by the og dev, meanwhile Genshin was done by a new team and anything fresh, brand new to Mihoyo.

My theory why Genshin doesn´t get the same treatment is because they went with a very different tone for the game. Honkai is very story and character driven while Genshin is supposed to be more world driven. What I mean by that is the focus is on world building and the in-game exploration. The story and characters of Genshin sadly take quite a hit with that. If we are honest the story of Genshin is ok at best and only the world itself creates intrigue. And the characters are so extremely one dimensional since we barely have any time with any of them. There simply isn´t enough emotional investment. Yes they could make animations for the spectakle but they wouldn´t be nearly as good without the fleshed out characters and emotional investment behind them

And the reason why the animation doesnt feel that smooth is because in genshin they use the in game model to make the cinematic, while in honkai they use the 3d models as a base but make retouches in 2d to better express the emotions of the caracters and give that feel of " im watching an anime".

I've played Genshin since the release. Because of a buddy I discovered Honkai a while ago and I love it. There're so many things to do, the story and characters are nice and you can do the dailies in a few minutes, if you haven't much time. A great game and a very nice reaction. Hope you'll like it =D

About the whole Otto thing, they might be refering to Kamisato Ayato; he shares the same VA with Otto Apocalypse, and have similar mannerisms. As others mentioned, there are more newer videos, two of which Otto appears: Pre-revelation and Thus Spoke apocalypse. Other videos that you should watch (apart from those two) are "Reburn II" and "A post-honkai oddysey - Stars above drowned lands". You can watch "winter memories" as well, but it's not related to the story.
