I’m surprised none of them especially Pierro realized that the cataclysm wasn’t the god’s fault but Khaenri’ah’s. They experimented with forbidden knowledge and powerful technology and it all backfired and destroyed the place and would’ve destroyed the rest of Tyvat if Celestia didn’t call the archons there to essentially do damage control.

i may have forgotten things because it's been a while but the only reason the khaenrians were punished was because the heavenly principles believed them to be getting too close to the strengths of gods right? their understanding and maniplation of khemia may have been deemed too powerful as it may have been a matter of time before they could've been overthrown

@@corpshu that’s actually not true. That’s just the point of view the biased Khaenri’ahns have because they REALLY hate gods. Celestia let their civilization be and advance as much as they wanted despite knowing they had full intention to try and overthrow them. They only got involved when forbidden knowledge became a problem and exploded in their faces threatening the entirety of Tyvat.

​@@burstlogic3457 I mean, what you say is true, Khaenri'ahns did get killed because some of their scientists discovered how to create life. But their point isn't technically biased. They WERE close to have godly powers. Creating life isn't something a human can do at all. But to be honest, I'm not even sure the Khaenri'ahns knew about those experiments. So destroying an entire nation for just a few? You can't blame the Khaenri'ahns for hating the gods. Plus, I don't think they are all white as well. If the Tsaritsa wants to get rid of the Heavenly Principles, there must be something more

@@moony26_06I don’t think the gods goal there was to destroy Khaenri’ah specifically, they went there to fight the abyss which just so happens to have Khaenri’ah as the inevitable collateral since they’re the center of the invasion

@@moony26_06 that would be a point but Natlan kinda threw a wrench into that. Literally the first pyro archon was human and killed the pyro sovereign and was gifted the gnosis and was actually helped by one of the shining shades in order to establish the rules of Natlan. Humans gaining godlike power wasn’t a problem for Celestia and they actually encouraged it in Natlan. And yes the curse was indiscriminate but they had to do that too. Everyone was infected with forbidden knowledge and if they died all that would go into the leylines and into Irmensul making it so probably even Rhukkadevata erasing herself wouldn’t do much against it. So all the Khaenri’ahns couldn’t be allowed to die so the curse was put in place.

It's great you remember the lore! Because some people are tone deaf. It was told the reason why that place was destroyed was because of the fact they used forbidden knowledge and it caused abyssal corruption meaning they would've quite literally gotten rid of tevyat.
