Genshin Impact Nintendo Switch Release Date | is this a Glimore of Hope? I made a recent discovery that the Japanese KZbin channel for Mihoyo/Genshin Impact still features "Nintendo Switch" as one of the game's supported platforms? They won’t be able to play with your current account because the Switch version needs to launch at version 1.0 but I think after a year it will catch up with the main version.

It's been two years, I honestly think it's not at this point. The switch should be more powerful then a phone but they're having issues on the switch but not the phone? Why is the switch causing issues when a PHONE can play it?

Having it on the switch would save me money from getting a different device to play this large game, and it will give many other mobile players a chance to enjoy the game a whole lot better. I hope mihoyo comes with this soon.

I really hope it comes to the switch because I've tried playing it on my phone but the screen is small and it's hard to move my character around. So with the small amount that I did see and did play I really want it on the switch! I was talking about it just a little bit ago with my boyfriend before I decided to look it up and see if any progress has been made.

basicly 対応 means "compatible with" or "supported" and 予定 means "scheduled" or "planned" so 対応予定 means something allong the lines of "planned support" or "planned compatibility with"

That's actually amazing!~ This most definitely GUARANTEES that they are working on it. Stay hopeful switch community! Just like BOTW 2, Genshin Impact is a big game, it makes sense why they're taking so long. The Genshin Impact devs never mentioned anything about cancelling or delays, so there's no way it's not coming to the Switch. But, has to be SOME type of delay, such as storage space and if the current Switch model can handle it. But hey, who knows the future? It could come out tomorrow for all we know!

It didn't take long for genshin to release on the ps5 even though it was announced for the switch first

@@johnnyhoang7388 That's bc the PS5 is much more powerful and has large native SSD storage. They didn't need to worry about optimizing much to get things running well. The Switch uses 6 year old graphics architecture. You can image how difficult it is for Genshin devs to try and make the game not only look okay, but give you somewhat playable frame rates.

Actually, I'm not quite sure because it was the Japanese Genshin Impact channel that released the Genshin Switch port trailer 2 years ago. I think it's more likely to be a preset because they would use it in descriptions on the other channels too right? It's a worldwide game so I'm not sure but fingers crossed that it's true >.

Coming from someone who has no idea about how game development actually works, I can't help but think that they won't release the switch version until all of the worlds and the actual story is finished. On the other hand that is still years away at this point, since not even Sumeru is out yet and the latest city/country took such a long time to come out. But playing on mobile isn't an option for a lot of us and a switch version would just make sense.

That's why I've been done holding my breath for this game (pun intended). Anyway, by the time Genshin comes out, (or if it even comes out at all), I feel like the hype for the game will have completely died down. That's across all the consoles. Like there probably won't be as many updates as frequently by that time either. And maybe people won't be playing it as much.

If it was cancelled they just would have just straight up told us and took the video down it's just that simple. No point of them hiding it. The trailer has been up for quite along while yes. They are for sure having issues with the Switch no doubt about it. Because theres no way a port would take this long. (well normally) But just remember nothing is cancelled unless it's confirmed by Mihoyo. Don't lose hope yet the key is patience. -Ninja

I got an irking feeling that they will require us NSO sub to play the game. Add to that, their was an NSO logo from the Genshin Impact Switch port trailer. Hopfully it's FTP, it will look bad considering Playstation port is free.

My theory is they're making a port for switch 2 instead of current switch since the switch is already 5 years old and reaching to its end of generation, The oled version just been released last year, so this might not true, but it's still a switch, like ps4 pro. My comment is after the 2.5 livestream and noting about switch port, but let's see if there's anything on the 3.0.

Legit as time goes on they’ll have to release it to switch not many people have very good PCs or even have a ps4/5. I personally am one of those people mainly because none of their games have had any appeal to me so it would be pointless for me to get one and it could be the same for other people. Or they don’t have one and just conveniently have a switch. Plus eventually mobile will take so much space that it won’t even be downloadable which will make them lose players.

It may get sales and was/is thriving because of the pandemic, but as far as you see online, everyone says that it's not great if you don't have many games, most of the games aren't worth your money, paying for online is terrible, and etc. My point was though that since Genshin is one of the most popular games out right now, that would give it a boost in users.

Porting to switch is literally free money for Hoyoverse. Some games are locked behind consoles like I can't play smash ultimate on my pc legitimately but can on my switch. Those type of games thrive being console exclusive but Hoyoverse isn't losing anything. Same with Xbox but I think they're being stingy.

Agree, having the game not on Switch is not really a lost for Hoyoverse. At the end of the day, this game is still a mobile game and it has "gacha" style of micro transactions which thrives on mobile. Their current base on mobile alone is much larger than the current Switch base. So they are fine for not having any more ports for now. Hoyoverse did say that they planned to release the game as many platforms as possible. However, I do think Sony Money hatted them for not having it on Switch and Xbox as well.
