This game is honestly extremely F2P friendly. Even the "worst" character can become OP with some grinding, and you get so many free wishes that you are almost guarenteed AT LEAST 1-2 five stars every 2 months, which is scary good compared to many other games and considering how small the roster is

Xiangling and Barbara are the non-limited ones that you can get through progression whilst Fischl is the only limited character that can be obtained from the event (which has now ended). Although, they might make Fischl obtainable through progression like Xiangling and Barbara... we can only really hope.

This only matters if you enjoy the gameplay of keeping things efficient and at the most optimal. Otherwise who cares? I leveled and ascended chongyun because I liked him then leveled the party to support him. Then I got razor and liked him more so I did the same thing. The game is enjoyable to just play so you don’t have to get everything instantly

I go by this rule, level everyone up to 20, the ones that you see using up to 40. Main team focus on getting the levels between 60 to 70. Weapons, Focus on only one of the types of weapons. Unless your main team has 2 bows, only level 1 of them. Use your level 3 with refinements. The levels 4, unless broken by default, will be weaker in comparison.

I get a sense of enjoyment from getting a powerful team, I don't have fun when my team is weak and I have to keep grinding over days to get everyone up to par. I find it difficult to focus one character in any gacha, particularly because you never know what character you might get next. Building Noelle til you get Yanfei, then Ninguang makes Yan look weak so you switch. Then you get Beidou and build her a little but you don't have Fischl for battery, so you give up on that and get Mona and see how huge her burst can be, then Eula shows up and you're just like holy physical overkill batman, then you start getting some constellations for Noelle and she starts looking halfway decent again, then... Am I the only one?

@@salontafel100 I haven't played in a while, but she was pretty good when I last looked. You just need a battery to keep her skill available, and she's a burst powerhouse. She can be a little tricky play, as you do need decent timing to get the most out of her skill, but if you get it right you can one-shot a lot of enemies while nullifying a moment's worth of incoming damage. I never got the battery I needed, but if you have Fischl and decent reaction time, she might be fun for you to play around with. If you prefer something more straightforward, I'd avoid her altogether. If you just need a 2h to break shields and geo, there are better options.

It’s called ✨management ✨. Focus on a few characters at a time and once you max those out move onto the next. Divide it into parts. Personally I hate having characters that are super strong and then other characters that are weak so I build all of them up evenly. I first focus on ascending them and their weapons. Then once I max out their ascension I focus on their artifacts and talents. It’s all about the management people also patience is key. This is a gacha based game so it’s all pure luck. Just get yourself some tea and enjoy the graphics and the overall experience of exploring the game.

@@Erox006 He's not saying he doesn't have good characters. You need to pay attention more to what hes saying instead of bashing on him. He's saying, don't waste all your materials on people that you don't use because you won't ever get those resources back. (Things like Mora, ascension material, talent material.) You get a lot of materials at the start of the game but these material run dry as you start reaching end game content. Sure he can eventually farm for those materials, but 120 resin, a day is not enough to consistently farm all the material you need. All hes telling us is to do is to focus on one whole team. Not to waste any un necessary mora / material on people you aren't playing because resources and money does try out. 120 resin, each domain costing 20. Elite costing 40, and bosses costing 60. Which means in theory you only get 6 domains OR 3 elite bosses OR 2 boss domains a day. You are losing out on character strength by wasting material / resources. Everyone here is saying "Oh, you should be thankful for what you have because i'll never get there". You aren't there because you haven't put in the time to get as far as he has. He may have paid thousands of dollars for 5 star characters but you don't need them. They are a nice to have. Even a decked single focused team could be stronger than his 5 star team just as he said.

Yeah, this isn't like fire emblem, where certain characters start off over levelled and some don't. For some reason, thieves used to be some of the worst characters to use in FE. In path of radiance, Sothe cannot ever promote, meaning he is stuck at level 20, whereas everyone else can get to level 40. In FE blazing sword, you get 2 thieves and you have to pick only one thief who can advance from level 20 to 40, since there is only one "fell contract" item in the whole game. At least in GI, nobody is stuck at level 20 permanently or you have to pick one character to get past level 20 while others stay where they are. Even the worst characters can go above level 20 in GI.

He is being slightly dramatic but I get what he's saying, the daily limit does seem to make grinding quite a bit more annoying late game, imagine if say, in kh2 to get the Ultima it took actual weeks because of daily loot mechanics similar to Genshin, people would complain just as much because while the Ultima is good if it took genshin levels of grinding it would almost not be nearly as worth it just for Mp Hastega and somewhat higher strength and magic (basically I agree he is dramatic but at the same time I kinda see what he's getting at with how much of a limiting pain it can be to grind in late game)

@@pancingikan8348 follow the main questline but don't be afraid to explore as well, early game while teleporting seems nice you'll want to walk so you can possibly run into more chests and off the road areas and such so you can get more gear and primogems, also to my knowledge the beginner pull for characters guaruntees 2 for the price of 16 wishes (the one that shows Noelle, it should guaruntee her on the first 8 pull and one other character on the second 8 pull), but the best tip is to just kinda have fun y'know, don't worry too much about the meta in my opinion because what good is the meta if you don't have fun right? Domains are also good to run if you need a boost in certain materials, Amber specifically is also a good character despite what many say because she's your first ranged option and can light puzzle torches and such with ease, her baron bunny also can take a bit of heat off you if you need to focus on takin down ranged enemies

The issue with this line of thinking is how you expect you need to get these characters and your rank as high as possible as fast as possible.... in a game that's not PVP. It's a live-service RPG. The game has been out a week and a half. Sure, get to rank 30 quickly so when v1.1 drops Early-Mid-November, but even then.. that content expects you to -maybe- be level 50 max. Even the AR32, 34, 36 quests aren't pairing you up against level 60-70 enemies. You get level 60 world bosses at AR 35. There will be another region. With more quests, more resources, likely more 'culuses. Do your commissions, find your daily world spawn mats for character ascension, I would recommend prioritizing domains that give character and ascension mats first over the artifact granting domains.. The game isn't meant to be "beaten" not yet. There's no end-game raid yet. There's Abyss which is a test of strength and strategy but even that's a once through at the lower levels. You won't be going past room 7 or 8 until your characters are in the 70s+. Think of it like WoW but some co-op instead of MMO. You don't beat WoW. You finish the end-game raid.. over and over and over. And those have a weekly timer on them IIRC. You have dungeons you can grind daily similar to Genshin's domains, except this game has stamina. You'll have to break and do other things.

Yeah its kind of extreme, especially with the fact he has some people at 70 already which is good, its meant to become a grind at this point where you have a checklist of things to do everyday with the goal to spend all your resin farm all the free advancement mats, max refresh on resin and then repeat the next day, or work on something else like farming the Oculus or chests. The only real thing hes probably hurting to push through is abyss due to his investments but thats meant to be difficult and a slower progression.

I knew about rerolling but I didn't because honestly its a pain in the ass to lvl accounts to lvl 7. I don't have any s tier characters at ar 30 but my team is pretty strong because i got high constellation barbara and xianling. My main dps is chongyun who who still trucks. Ill get those 5 stars when i get there. Doing stuff like rerolling will only burn you out on this game quicker. Take it slow and just enjoy the game. It'll take a bit over 1 week to go from 30 to 35 and then close to 2 weeks for 35 to 40 so you are timegated there anyways. Plan your materials ahead of time and you will be ready when you unlock the next ascension.

I like leveling characters with books up to one level before they actually ascend (39 instead of 40 etc) and then I just get the last level naturally by grinding combat. At that point I already have them leveled and the ascension materials and adventure rank ready to go or close to it. Saves books and gold for later.

I mean its kinda of a sprint initially since its relatively smooth sailing for the "first part" of the game its when you hit the wall all gachas have where grinding between each step forward is the norm. Getting to the wall fast is essentially being efficient with your time since grinding at the earlier phases is less reward for your time, since much like genshin where you get greens/blues/ purps for advancement mats in domains at higher tiers vice just greens or blues/green essentially getting to the point where your resin gets you greens/blues/purps is maximizing the value of your 20 resin, which is why you sprint to that point, the point where you get the most value for your time limited resource commonly known as stamina. Marathoning is a more F2P mindset but even then pushing as far as you can get as quick as you can before the wall which may happen sooner with bad rolls which is why rerolling for a good start is a ideal strat for F2P but you still want to be maximizing that stamina value to ultimately save time in a grander scheme since you'll get more materials for each bit of stamina you use then if you took it nice and easy. But thats just me, people are free to go as slow as they want.

@@di8085 I'm not denying the marathon but instead saying the gachas have a wall where progress essentially slows down extremely, that point is where the marathon should begin with you sprinting to get there initially, its the intentional design of gachas to have progress be quick and gratifying to hook you in, getting you invested before making you hard grind to keep progressing. Now i'm not saying its wrong to just marathon it I'm not telling anyone how to spend their time. I'm just in a manner amending the thought that you should be marathoning from the get go in a gacha game.

I once leveled 4 characters to lvl 50 to enter a domain (at ar30 if I’m not mistaken) bcs it needs lvl 50 party... and my main 2 are Noelle and Xiangling bcs I don’t like any character other than them, the other 2 characters are chosen randomly to be lvl 50 :(

The biggest thing I think people need to know about this game is that it's basically a mmo/rpg with gacha characters. It's basically new territory and both sides of the fence are struggling to come to a middle ground. I know a lot of gacha players want to treat this just like any other gacha game but it's not. There's not auto grind, there's no guarantee team for content if you suck, there's lots of exploration and movement that many gacha players aren't used to. This will greatly affect the way the game stabilizes for long term players. Is the standard gacha route going to work or do they need a more mmo approach to keep players interested? I'm very interested to see how it plays out, and hopeful for the best.

Well said! I am mmorpg player, got stuck on making alts because I need OP characters. Usually I could just farm anything good for my character, although it takes days but I can survive that. This game on the other hand is soooo different with the gatcha. If I want OP gears, I better do gatcha. If I want AWESOME char, I SHOULD DO GATCHA. Which is insane because its getting on my nerves everytime, I currently have 5 alts, only 1 has 5 Stars character, which is Qiqi. The rest turns out good, I even have 1 alt that has good line up but no 5 star. Right now I'm so frustrated to decide which alt I should make as my main.

@@nuguseo7430 those are hard choices to make. Personally I went with just having fun. I've played loads of gacha games and they are marathons. You'll eventually get the characters you want, in the meantime just have as much fun as you can.

I have 6 characters that i use as my main only swapping them out when i need specific elements. I raised all of them to .ax lvl and even their gear. Now im wirking on the ones that i use in specific areas. I find that creating one main party and concentrating on them is best. Attempting to bring all you toons up is not a great idea unless you constantly farm mats.

IMO it still depends on the player... I don't want the best stats, best atk. I want to experiment with techniques and elemental usages, combos. So I level up a bunch of characters at the same time. So when I want to experiment again, I just choose the other hero from my collection and try new stuff. Yes, I kill bosses for a longer time. Yes, I have to spend more time hunting bosses/leylines/etc. Yes, I have to use food boosters. Yes, my stats are not that good if I leveled up only 2-4 heroes, but for me, it was starting to get so boring after two months. I got Diluc, super lucky at the start of the game. But after I was using him all the time it became ssssoooooooooooooooo boring. So I switch characters around and just try to win with them. A lot of the time, I don't find anything interesting/die too quickly/don't get characters' abilities utilized but then I find new techniques and best teams for different bosses. Again, IMO, people are different. I have this 'ruined' account, but for me, it's my playstyle. Mostly written for people like me who may have gotten sad after realizing their accounts aren't utilized at full potential. I am not downgrading the Mtashed points or saying he is wrong. He is 10000% right. If, IF your goal is to have the max account with the best small team possible with best ATK. For me the most important thing is having fun playing, whatever their playstyle is~

Sunday is the day you should be killing the wolf in the north and storm terror. Wait till the end of the week to kill them cuz that's when you're going to be at your highest AR for the best rewards. I don't recommend farming domains on Sunday.

Btw. Noelle is actually a healer. She's an amazing character that scales heals AND damage off of her defense stat. You will likely need or want 2 healers for the spiral abyss. Barbara is one, but Noelle is actually an another one thats quite amazing since shes tanky by nature, gives a shield you can snag at any time for ur characters. And when you need healz bad, pop over to her, active her ability and ultimate, and every strike heals her allies for a flat amount and % of her defence, ontop of getting a % of her defence stat as attack during her ultimate. You can EASILY hit 1000 defence with minimal investment, and almost definitely hit 2000 with good investment. At level 1 ultimate, thats 40% of the defence stat into attack. 800 attack from 2000 defence. Plus healz for everyone. Plus she auto protects an ally that drops bellow 30% if shes not active. Gotta read more into the characters, as Noelles actually one character where her tankyness is converted to healing / shields AND damage.

Leveled my Rosaria to 40 because I had her on c2, replcaced her with Kaeya when I realized I liked sword users better. Kaeya was leveled up to 32 before getting replaced by Bennett. I levelled up Itto to 40, replaced him with Amber a few weeks later. Amber got to level 40 before getting replaced by Diona (She's awesome with my main dps, Razor).I had wasted so much materials on characters I sometimes forget I even had and I now feel deep regret whenever I run out of materials.

The game IS enjoyable and fun... if you get a good character. I rerolled and got Keqing and am thoroughly enjoying myself. But prior to that my best character was Beidou and it was fairly lackluster. The game's only fun if you enjoy the character you're playing, and the only way to ensure you get the character you enjoy is by rerolling.
