For those who are saying, honkai's gameplay is boring, that might be true in the beginning. Tbh, I uninstalled it twice when I was a noob. But once you dive deeper, learn the complex stuff, and start going competitive. That is where the passion starts. Doing honkai stuff has never been a chore unlike some of genshin contents. It also has leaderboards or abyss rankings which boosts your passion and strive to do better. It is also a game which skills matter very much. There are also cases that f2p can beat spenders in rankings by using skills and game knowledge, which is very satisfying I would say. Also, this game is also friendly to those who are busy in work or other stuff, it is not as time-consuming as genshin. Well, this is just my opinion but really just give honkai a try (or a second chance for those who uninstalled). Playing both games until now lvl88 and ar59. I do love both games but honkai seems superior as of now, genshin is still too young and hopefully it gets better.

Exactly my thoughts lmao I used to only play Genshin since i really liked and enjoyed it and avoided Honkai for a long time mostly bc im a mobile player and i thought my phone won't support both games. I got into honky at a friend's suggestions that was playing for a while and i started bc the character on the banners was really appealing (at Aponia's release) Needless to say, i came for some reasons but i stayed for the rest of reasons. The quality of the story made me realize how young and undeveloped genshin still is and overall Honkai can give you such a beautiful experience. I don't think I'll ever regret playing or paying in Honkai. It's an amazing game and i totally recommend it especially to genshin players that have experienced burn outs from commissions :)) And i really hope that with time and patience Genshin will also evolve into something much more than just pretty open world and potential!

Honkai’s story is just getting better and better, it never feels repetitive or boring, especially with all the gaps in the previous era and Elysian realm filling them in, Elysian realm has so far been my favourite part of the story, to get into honkai, you have to read the mangas which you can now find in each section of chapters in the game! A few lore videos and theories will help. Honkai is an emotional roller coaster when you really begin to relate and love the characters, but you need to know the mangas before hand because they help explain so much!

One note I would like to add to the Gacha side of things is that Honkai provides a LOT of ways to get characters through various in-game currencies without needing the premium currency here. You can earn your way to a SSS battlesuit without spending a cent, and end game builds for weapons and characters are much easier to get materials for that in Genshin. It makes the entire experience feel more rewarding and more like the game is respecting my time in playing, instead of constantly dangling waifus in front of me to get me to open my wallet.

I’ve played honkai since April 2018 and Genshin since it’s release and honestly nowadays I just don’t understand why a large part of the 2 communities can’t handle each others, I’ve always been a little bit disconnected from both fan bases but once and a while glances at it and it really hurts me to see people tearing each others because of 2 wayyy different games that are at waaaay different part of their development over stuff that shouldn’t even be compared. For example every time someone compares both story, it’s stupid, Honkai has several game mode as well as a story mode that had time to set itself up and expand its universe, whereas Genshin as of right now is just setting stuff up with the new Dain quest. It’s not comparable. Likewise the rewards Genshin gets vs those honkai gets, honkai by design is a much more meta oriented game which inevitably asks you to pull for characters but for their weapons and stigmatas, something that isn’t mandatory to clear Genshin’s endgame because for one it’s not PvP and is MUCH LESS meta oriented, so it’s normal Genshin’s feel a little more stingy with those compared to honkai. Which leads me to the bosses, in Honkai they are designed to have very specific characters of a certain element and with specific gear to be taken down whereas in Genshin you have much more freedom with how you approach a boss, sometimes the abyss will apply an element to the monsters which means you’ll have to work around that too. Both are challenging in their own ways but are by no means less challenging than the other (the real challenge let’s be real is scoring a score that won’t get you booted out of your rank in honkai). I’ll never get why some are using the “Genshin is for casuals” as some sort of pillar for their argument, an accessible game by no means means it’s bad and I even find it to backfire because it implies that Honkai is a much more closed off game when it’s really not.
@zhongli20152 жыл бұрын
As someone who plays both (AR 58; Captain rank 40 as I just started a week ago), I'd say that Genshin is more like animal crossing where you collect pretty characters and appreciate the music and scenery of the overworld (Honkai doesn't have the same amount of depth in terms of the detailed design of the overworld; I remember being mesmerized when I first saw liyue and enkanomiya). With that being said, I still prefer HI3. The story reeled me in and the writing just throws GI straight out of the water. The combat is more hack-and-slash but I connect with the characters more. They are given depth, and you can feel the protagonists' closeness with each other. Another pro for Genshin is that I noticed that its UI is much easier to understand and doesn't get too overwhelming for newer players. Anyways, these are my two cents and I still enjoy both games. Kudos for this video as it has a lot of points I agree with!
@joshuavallente70572 жыл бұрын
I agree with all points you’ve raised, especially with the UI. Been playing Honkair since its first year and the UI has always been not beginner friendly and has always puzzled new players. Keep playing and get to the latest chapters in the story (I promise you it’s worth it) and get to level 81 because that’s when the gameplay actually gets really fun.

This is obviously an opinion, so I'll throw in my two cents. I think the lore is good in both. It's the execution that bugs me. The difference in storytelling is akin to Harry Potter (GI) and Lord of the Rings (HI3rd). Both have potential. The storytelling and directing in Honkai Impact feels superior. They know how to weave a story unlike any other, to the point I think even some single-player games can feel weak in comparison. I thought it was because the story usually involves characters we've played as over the years... Until recently with the Elysian Realm chapters. It's still good. I just met these people not too long ago but I've been sucked in. Genshin knows it can do the same, but it feels rushed. Everyone was raving on about Shenhe's story quest but it was just badly written and it didn't make me feel the excitement, the threat, the emotion behind Shenhe's choices. Yun Jin's solo carried it. Genshin did show their brilliance with the recent (was it an archon quest?) Quest with Yelan and Xiao. I still think that in a purely narrative standpoint, purely storytelling, Genshin shone brightest with Historia Antiqua. That was superb storytelling. It knew when to subvert expectations. It knew when to stab you and when to twist the knife. Guoba quest and Yelan/Xiao quest got past the halfway mark there... But nothing close. It doesn't mean the others are not good. It means compared to what I've seen in Honkai and GGZ, I couldn't justify putting them in the same tier. I would have for Historia Antiqua. I would argue, minus the quests leading up to it, the Osial cutscene had one hell of an impact and could (on its own) be part of that tier. It was grandiose but had a lot of substance and emotion behind it. The musical direction was superb. I couldn't praise it well enough. What Honkai can't do would be the recent Mona GAA event. The puzzles were a treat. Amazing. It made me think. I loved it. Made me play Genshin a lot more than usual that day. Genshin hasn't done anything like The Day You Vanished With the Stars. It will always have implied dark tones but I doubt it'll ever get to the point it straight up gets dark. Overall, I rank Honkai far above Genshin in terms of story and gameplay. Honkai felt like I could brute force it... Until I got to Exalted. Gave the game new meaning. Working with what you have and being creative with your stigmata just to deal with a weather you're not well-equipped for was both satisfying and insanity-inducing. Genshin wins by a long shot in terms of being user-friendly. The artifact system is straight to the point with a lot less combination possibilities but it helps you get the job done. The character combinations are what changes for me. Honkai is less forgiving in the sense that it's probably not a good idea to have Senti in an elemental team. I play Genshin when I want to just take the whole day off and chill. Honkai is when I want to stomp on noobs (or more accurately, to get stomped on by vets) and practice my rotations by redoing the same superstring floor thirty times just so I don't get demoted. For reference, I am three weeks into Exalted. Level 84, literally story only for two years and started abyss with 2 star stigs and weapons last year with no gacha Valkyries. Everlasting Flames changed things for me. Genshin, I pre-registered for and played since release. At AR 59.

Genshin's story is amazing, it's just that you're left to have to piece everything together long after you play the game. There's also a lot of hidden yet very important pieces of lore in world quests and, most importantly, limited time events. That's the problem. The main story (or, Archon quests / story quests) itself is completely boring. Yet the limited time events, like the current one with the mirages, it's just an entire world ahead. Honkai’s writing peaked at ER for me, for them to be able to introduce 13 side characters to whom I fell in love with, some I even love more than the main characters.
@justsomeguy7272 жыл бұрын
Elysian realm was dogshit and took way too fucking long and MOST of the good lore in it is hidden away behind text walls from side conversations with the characters that are only unlocked by slaving away at ER each chapter until you unlock them all. The entire thing was just a glorified Elysia marketing campaign to force her down our throats. And then the ultimate slap in the face when they give her a herrscher form that's not even overpowered like the previous herrschers were when they released so they could bait players that got attached to her while making her incredibly underwhelming compared to previous herrscher releases.

@Just some guy I wasn't even talking about the lore, my guy. Im very aware that it took a fucking ton to go dig and find shit for it. I was just talking about the overall design of the areas because I thought they were pretty. "The entire thing was just a glorified Elysia marketing campaign," Im not denying that I personally enjoyed the overwhelming amount of Elysia content, but to call the entirety of both the Elysian Realm and Elysium Everlasting just an "Elysia Campaign," kind of robs the rest of the characters of everything they had put in. We got so much god damn exposition on literally all of the flame chasers both through the main story and regrettably as you put it through digging through side content. "They gave her a herrscher form thats not even overpowered like the previous herrschers" Im sorry. Are we even playing the same game? Herrscher Ely is literally the strongest ice DPS in the game rn and just got even stronger thanks to Sushang. Im not quite sure I get why you were underwhelmed by her release. The build-up had been a long time coming, and the cinematic was truly beautiful. What more did you want? After reading several of your other comments, you just seem so... bitter towards honkai. Like all that matters to you is getting high scores in MA and the Abyss. I could be completely wrong, but that's what i got out of most of it. I've played the game since launch, and I've loved every second of it (excelt kolosten, otto deserved better writing for his arc cause that shit was wack).

As a person who once played genshin daily, but now plays honkai every day for now 6 months- I just can't get over the animations and I love how often they give us special events that keep us entertained and how easy it is to build characters compared to genshin. In genshin you can farm for weeks and sometimes even MONTHS and get absolute dog shit. But in honkai (if coins aren't a problem for you) you can literally buy from what feels like an unlimited supply of crafting materials and just go ham on the weapons and stigmata (and yes you can also farm for rare crafting materials that are pretty expensive to buy or aren't available in the shop). And another thing that I love about honkai is the story and how you can relive that story once again without making a new account. In honkai there are levels and you can replay those levels and relive the experience that made you fall inlove with the game. But in genshin you cant possibly relive those experiences without making a new account, and I know there are so many people that are way too lazy to make another account. That is why it makes it feel like a fever dream, you don't remember the story well and even if you wanted to experience the story once again, you'll have to go through the process of making a new account. And the leader boards are also one of the reasons that subconsciously make you wanna get better and play the game more often. But in genshin there is no leader board so that just makes you even less motivated to play because you sometimes don't know if you're making progress or not, and in the end you get burnt out and give up. And being and F2P in honkai is so much easier than being an F2P in genshin. Because of the abyss, the memorial arena, the shop, the events, the commissions, etc.. Sometimes you feel like materials and coins have never been an issue to you. But in genshin, primogems are basically the most important currency in the game, because there is no way you can get good weapons without wishing (excluding those events that give you one limited free 4 star weapon, that are good on like 2 or 3 characters max)
@waqrukkgaming Жыл бұрын
AND THE THING IS THAT'S WHAT I LOVE IN GENSHIN... ( HARDCORE SURVIVAL WITH REAL TIME ) ... I like to farm things like this and when i feel like that's not enough i just hop into other's world for loot... That's just niceee... And like it will be the largest game for sure... For a veteran player who played both games. Story: Honkai claps but I believe Genshin can also be good. It's needs time. If they can make it first archon war they definetly slay. Gameplay: Both are unique a lot of game copy Honkai and Genshin. I like reaction in Genshin but also I like Honkai because compatitive. U know sometimes u pull valkyries for weather and counter thing. Genshin weapon option is better but Honkai claps adding old valkyries weapon stigmata things to farmable option. Genshin needs something like that. Because if we see Sheznaya there Will be ovet 100-150 character exist. Genshin needs to add some old character to standart banner. We have even Herrcher on dorm suply. Ps: I remmember something important we have spending event in Honkai. And this one is include in game money something like primogem. If you spend around 20k 30k u can get some progress and got something valueable. Genshin needs something like that. Sometimes even f2p people spend 160-240 wish and it's a lot for f2p player. Think about that u spend 30k primogem and game give 1 or 2 4 star cons which character u want. That was be awesome. Some 4 stats better than 5 stars lmao. Think about that u have c5 Xingxu and got a card from spending event. It makes your Xingxu c6 and u don't need to use er sand anymore. That was be awesome.

I've also found that most of the events have a more interesting story and gameplay (I did really like the 2.8 Genshin events but many of their past events are just fighting monsters with different buffs each time). Honkai has such great writing and screenplay that it does not feel like a free game at all. It changes perspective of lives by dealing with dimensions, voids, calamities, time based theories.And constantly explores the concept of Honkai which we can relate with . Like how when certain species has lived long enough they become extinct(Dinosaurs).Now one can tell what mysterious thing happened to them that not even single one survived. Genshin is you know, what to say, it's beautiful but that is all it is right now cause it is a normal adventure game with mages, swordsman ,adventures and gives the mmorog & isekai anime vibes. It gas great potential absolutely no doubt about that but right now it is very restrictive in its writing while Honkai's writing is like many intelligent people banded together to bring the outcome. Honkai has better feels due to it's CG videos produced by Mihoyo anime studio, while Genshin does not have those feels . That's how it is at this point. But you never know with Mihoyo they may pull something nasty with Paimon, watch out guys.

@user89389 Жыл бұрын
Hmm I don't know, this video felt rather one-sided. Of course, it's an opinion, so that isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there seemed to be a lot of bias towards one game, and a lot of... frustration? towards another. So here's my opinion/reaction. Also TLDR at the end. For starters, Genshin's story isn't all that predictable or lackluster, even if it isn't the best. And I say that despite not caring about the story at all. I spam the space bar whenever characters are talking and I still gather enough information to know just how much is behind this. The main elements aren't even out yet, the lore is still expanding. Many parts are very much predictable, but many others you can't even begin to guess. Then, despite the combat being slower, it isn't lackluster unless you're just mashing buttons hoping for a result and waiting for cooldowns. The combat can be incredibly fast-paced in teams where you need to keep switching between characters to get elemental reactions, set up buffs, shields, heals, etc., all the while you keep energy and cooldowns in mind along with attack patterns, and maybe dodge. Both games are focused on action and planning, but in very, very different ways and different people will prefer different systems. Hard disagree with almost every take on the open world. Genshin characters are hard to build and require you to farm different mobs, not just bosses or domains. You WILL be walking around that open world, because you'll have to do it. Unless you buy your way to success, of course. A big draw of Genshin is the pretty aspect anyway - it's a bold (and wrong) assumption that people won't be just standing around taking it all in, or observing what mobs do, listening to the themes of various areas. Not everyone's priority is the abyss and the meta. That being said, Genshin has a lot of issues. It suffers from the worst case of word diarrhea I've ever seen in my life. (It's even worse than mine. Yeah. This entire wall of text it probably just the first part of a chapter in the main quest.) I'd say at least half of the lines are either irrelevant details or off-topic conversations that are mandatory, not optional. There is no skip button, so you WILL sit through it, whether you like it or not. And if you think you can just put it on auto-play and do something else, oh, you sweet summer child, no. You'll have to click a "dialogue option" every now and then, which doesn't affect the story btw, and sometimes the line you have to click to proceed is literally just "..." I genuinely don't know what's going on in the writing department of Genshin. The open-world with all its interactable objects are fun, but they are also the bane of my existence. I can count on one hand the number of times I ACTUALLY wanted to climb a tree or a pillar in the middle of combat. And if I'd get a free wish for every time I tried to pick up an item or enter a building and started to read a sign instead (that my character wasn't even facing) then I'd probably have characters strong enough to survive being attacked by nearby mobs in the middle of a cutscene, without the ability to do anything about it. The artifact system is simply unforgiving. I've seen streamers spend hours doing hundreds of domain runs (using double drops, btw) just to get good artifacts and not manage to get a single one that they'd actually, genuinely be happy to invest into. And even if it does look good, it just rolls a flat stat they didn't need, and keep rolling into that. That's brutal. You need to get so lucky, or have so many resuorces and farm so much for so long to get the set you actually need, and a good one at that, and there is little room for error, you can't just reroll or something. And the number of times you'll be fighting an enemy, get it down to low HP only for it to lose aggro, turn around, run back to its spawnpoint and regen all of its health because it "wandered too far" - now that's infuriating. It's to prevent players from cheesing enemies, but it happens even when you're just playing genuinely. And this doesn't just happen with regular enemies - you can get a tough boss down to 1 HP and have it run back to its spawnpoint and regenerate to full. There's probably a lot more that meets the eye. The point is, that Genshin has a LOT to improve and still needs to grow. But it isn't nearly as black and white as the video seemed to present it, and I really wanted to come in and add my two cents, because this just felt very... biased. TLDR; Both games are great in their own way, and both of them have their own downfalls/negatives. Genshin is more focused on taking it all in, chilling, and slowly farming your way up to success. You have to plan your rotations, artifacts and build your team according to the pace you enjoy, and then get good with said team. It's oriented towards nature and beauty - they put a lot of focus on aesthetics, music, and the world itself. Honkai is more focused on fast action that gets your heart racing. It still requires careful planning and team-building, but it's significantly more fast-paced in every aspect of the gameplay. It's more oriented towards modernity - both in design and the playstyle, the efficiency, the pace, etc. I think it makes perfect sense that they're by the same company, because they're literally polar opposites in vibe. They're gaining fans from both groups, those who want a relaxing time in a beautiful world, and those who want fast, action-packed combat with quick progression. One appeals to the aesthetic of nature, the other to technology. Overall it's just a real smart choice that they made these games so different, and they chose their designs and aesthetic to match the playstyle really well.

Kinda true tho, i played genshin for 4 6 months, and the fact that i managed to only get 4 4star and 1 qiai (bless that loli, for i main that girl), its really annoying. When it comes to gacha, im one who favor experience and variety over perfomance. GENSHIN drop rates, or my luck ia that roten, is a downer. In honkai, while time consuming, a Lot of character are farmable. And they are very, very generous to beginers, if you time ur start and catch a new player event, even better, started playing, got 5 or 6 different S valks. While both games require grinding, Honkai is much more generous in general to its rewards and stuff. Able to gain FREE skins during some events here and there, just for playing said event, and by the time you end you could almost clear the said event shop of its items too. The events are varied, some really touching others really derpy(talking about the chibbis in the summer event, and the dorm.) I poke to reffer to a joke i hear a while ago and stuck woth me " Genshin is the succesfull child while honkai is the favorite one regardless". And, maybe i will offend someone, but there is really no point in comparing since they are different in their genres and target audience. It just the freedom offered in genshin that catches attention, and its not a far reach to call it anime ish breath of the wild. The best quality of honkai, that i would call it superior to genshin, is their story. I teared up at several cutscens during the story, and down right cried at certain chaps, something that havent happened since i watched Jiraya die. Years ago. Genshin is aiming for quantity, and honkai goes for quality, at least its how i view it.

@@joshuavallente7057 The thing in genshin is, that there are more CHARACTERS (as in different people). With so many of them introduced it gets harder to relate to them, due to only appearing every now and then. Kiana is still Kiana despite being HoF and HoV, she is every single battlesuit of hers. Same for Mei. This signifies them growing up and maturing. While there are evolution or alternate timelines of same character. Fu hua and Yae Sakura ( HUA and SAKURA). Flame chasers themselves being added provide a completely new aspect of the story itself. And till now, only Elysia has 2 battlesuits from OG flame chasers (SAKURA being counted is debatable since Yae Sakura was first BEFORE SAKURA came to be a concept) are one and done (mostly). Kinda confused on how you compare the story in Honkai, but you said it in quotation so I assume you just saw reviews not actually playing the whole game itself.
@seid_10682 жыл бұрын
Nah I'm pretty sure they meant actual PvP. Like players beating each other out. Honkai's PvP revolves around a ranking system. Also I wouldn't really count Honkai's OW as such, tbh. Very clunky traversing mechanics, very limited, very unpolished. It barely passes as an Open World. I hope they go back to episode-esque stages. It felt better and more fluid.

I just think Honkai is better in every single point. This game is really Mihoyo's favorite. However, there's not any male characters playable, and that's a shame 😔 Genshin is still good tbh, but I think Mihoyo is just using it to make money. And whenever there is any problem, they just have to give out some primo gems to silence the players. And, I have often seen players defending Genshin body and soul on points where there is nothing to defend (the scenario, the gameplay, certain events...). This game makes some players lose all objectivity, it's almost absurd
@ReviXyOfficial2 жыл бұрын
You are right some thing cant be defended. Some character story quests, A lot of events (like the current fucking cogwheel one), no endgame, ect but the combat and story are not "shit and undefendable" the combat is just an entirely diffrent style made by diffrent people, No the honkai team does not work on genshin impact. They are basicly diffrent studios at this point under the same name. And the story is just not as on the nose as honkai (honkai is not on the nose either but you get my point). I would compare genshins story telling to something akin of Dark souls or Elden Ring (not the same level ofc but still) Also the PC port for honkai (if it can be even called that) is garbage and nothing you will say will change my mind. I mean the mobile UI is still on screen for fuck sakes. My point being i love both games and play both every day.

Base on enemy lvl in genshin and honkai is different. in genshin enemy health always same whatever in mission or dungeon while in honkai more high level on your character the difficult will be more extreme. and about story i love honkai story more than genshin cause it's very sad story and only focus story characters. i still love play honkai and i don't regret play it and my lvl now is 94.

All the "down-side" in Genshin you mentioned are probably due to the company pursuing higher "accessibility" (aka profit) to average potential mobile players who don't bother or don't have time to practice for advanced combat skills (a lot of players I saw in Genshin still complain about the game being hard) and don't have high-tolerance to tragic stories.

The story for Genshin on the surface seems very base level, sometimes it feels too rushed, like Inazuma and sometimes confusing like what happened with the first part in Sumeru, so for players who play just the game and don't go looking any further, they see just the obvious baseline. It's only once you delve deeper that you realize just how much thought Hoyoverse put into the game but obviously this has a downside as not everyone wants to watch in-depth lore videos just to get a deeper understanding of the history, world-building and characters. Whereas Honkai, has it's nitty-gritty, complex and interesting lore upfront and therefore immerses players who don't spend their time watching videos to understand. It really depends on what type of person you are, I myself play Genshin mostly for the story, characters and world rather than the fighting, so Genshin seems more appealing to me. Whereas the fast-paced fighting and skills required for Honkai put me off but the story always makes me feel like I want to be dragged back in.

I think the characters are more generous in honkai the issue is that your character is going to be hot garbage without their gear and youll never be able to compete with someone who has 4/4. all games are subjective bro. You can't say one game is better than another. when there is a game that can make you cry, it doesn't mean that the story of the game is better, but rather that you can relate to your real life. killing characters is not the only way to make the story more interesting (this is also subjective). and When you feel that combat in one game is better, it doesn't mean that the other is boring. basically you just have a different taste. The point is that we will always be biased towards the games we have played and relate to for a long time. (like me to ffx make me cry but the story is very generic)

Spiral abyss updates every 15 days and is almost always the same and you can use the same team every fcking 2 weeks...In Honkai there is Superstring dimension that is updated every 3 days and depending on how you play you can get to a higher rank against stronger enemies but also to better rewards + you have there significant buffs and debuffs so you need to have many teams to perform at the top ranks. Memorial arena compares you to other people about your level + another place where you need to have built many characters bcs when you use a character for one enemy you can not use the same character for the other. Elysian realm is really fun mode objectively, just watch some game comparisons or mtashed, they all liked elysian realm when you can literally change the playstyle of your character and the best thing is the story that genshin has absolutely terrible... Honkai Impact 3rd has one of the best written stories in a free to play game. Yeah I build characters in Honkai bcs I does not take months to fully build one character and it is actually useful somewhere. In genshin I built Ganyu and I can beat literally every content. As I already mentioned in genshin it takes atleast weeks to build a character and then what? the character has basic attack, charged attack and 2 skills and thats all + look at characters such as chongyun, bennet, shenhe and their ultimates... all of them are the same just to some round effect that boosts your attack xDDD

Defense I've seen here for Genshin: "The game is new" "Honkai is actually terrible, combat in genshin is cooler" "I quit Honkai pretty early, it is more boring than Genshin" Let's address this. "The game is new" Yes, Genshin is new, it's only the third of Honkai's age. However, so far we haven't seen a single storytelling change, and there was an interview with a hyv employee saying no endgame is planned. Hyv isn't listening to your community at all and is just adding the same bs for the last 2 years, and so I bet the actual gameplay will stay the same for a very long time. "Honkai is actually terrible, combat in Genshin is cooler" You definitely haven't played the game enough. Genshin's combat does in fact feel like a Honkai ripoff. No evasions, the energy system is nerfed to ashes and so is the uniqueness of the characters. Also normal attacks are way too weak, the whole combat is spamming characters' skills and bursts and switching them. "I quit Honkai pretty early, it is more boring than Genshin" Classic statement. You are completely wrong. Genshin was very likely your first game by hyv, and so it felt like a fresh new experience, so that's why you stayed. Honkai feels kinda similar to Genshin, and you felt like you played too much Genshin already and Honkai is too confusing and so you quit. Genshin was also confusing for me when I first started, and making more Genshin accounts turned out to be a terrible idea for me, because I just got to see the amount of pointless overwhelming content again. There is a lot of world quests and other bs that doesn't need to be in the game. In Honkai, literally the only pointless content are Chapters 1-6. That's literally just the beginning of the game. They also made each chapter shorter recently to get newbies in. Also seen some people say Genshin's story is better than Honkai's. If you think this, you are not just wrong, but stupid. The things stated in the video about Genshin's story are actually true, and the story is literally "Go here, talk to this random unimportant NPC for 5 minutes because the dialogues take ages to skip, then go to the next place and so on. There is barely anything interesting since the story started, maybe I'd say Act 2 of Inazuma, but then again, Act 3 was a really bad story ending. Honkai's story is just better in every way
@justsomeguy7272 жыл бұрын
This is way too many words just to say you don't like people having a different opinion than your own. Captain for 5yrs here: the combat IS fucking boring in honkai after a while . 95% of the Enemies are just punching bags and the boss design is very blatantly skewed to make fighting many of them (especially modern ones) a frustrating experience unless you pull for the character they were designed to be fought against with. Normal attacks barely mean shit in honkai either outside of the main dps. AE isn't doing any fucking damage with any of her combos. It's just long ass setup for buffs for no reason. Many modern valks don't even USE their normal attacks. Especially not the supports, so idk wtf you're on about. It's just as much skill/burst spam nowadays as genshin is. Back in the day normal attacks Valkyries were the meta but the game has evolved passed that because Hoyo realized that shit takes too much fucking time in a game where your score is DEPENDANT on how fast you are. "Genshin isn't listening to it's players" on the contrary, it is. It just isn't listening to it's *minority* playerbase. Honkai doesn't listen to its minority playerbase either. Veterans have been BEGGING for hoyo to stop pushing all this aggressive powercreep because ever since last year it's just been NONSTOP waves of powercreep to get people to spend because Hoyo became egregiously greedy thanks to genshin's success, yet they've not listened to us at all and instead did the opposite and released more and more powercreep. Ever since ch17 people have had a ton of problems with the honkai story as well with the exception of the fu Hua arc . But Kolosten and elysian realm ? Absolutely divided people and made many captains uninterested with the story direction. Notice how many of them came back once the story shifted back to the main protagonists though? Weird isn't it ? Also imagine needing context from the mangas to get the full picture of the MAIN story . It should all be in the game itself. Players shouldn't have to spend time looking at external media for vital context on characters such as Otto and Kallen. "The combat doesn't feel fast like in honkai" they're ... Different games ?? God of war combat feels slower than devil may cry combat. Hell, even Bayonetta combat feels slower than devil may cry and Bayonetta is made by the same guy who made the original devil may cry. Does that suddenly make god of war and Bayonetta worse games than devil may cry? What is this shit ass logic ??? Also actively insulting people for preferring one story over the one YOU personally like more is you being a top shelf arrogant asshole just because people don't view the world the same way you do. Absolute child mindset. "Literally the only pointless content in honkai is chapters 1-6" chronicles mode is fucking useless and doesn't even get updated anymore, AND a lot of the information in the stories for chronicles has been retconned LOL side quests in EVERY open world map are useless filler as well. Wtf does hanging out with Carole in APHO have to do with advancing the story of APHO itself ? Nothing. It's just there to fill space and artificially extend playtime just like world quests in genshin do.

I play video games for the characters and story, if the gameplay is nice then that's just a nice perk for me. With that being said, I believe that Genshin has the potential to maybe have a better story than Honkai. So far it is not likely at all, but maybe in the future. I really love the world building in Genshin, but the characters... are really a whatever to me. It really feels like they're just creating & dumping characters here and there just for the sake of creating them. We have WAYYY too many characters in Genshin and the staff can't develop all of them. I think it is better to have just a limited number of characters and periodically add more (like 1 character in a 3-4 months interval) and not just dump them and never mention 'em again *cough* Hu Tao *cough*. She used to be my favourite... and then she never appeared in the story again for what... over a year already, soon 2? I absolutely hate this about Genshin. At the moment, Xiao and Nahida are the only characters I really care about. She's very unique and certainly does not deserve the mistreatment she gets... and Xiao's just hell of an interesting character that we haven't fully uncovered yet, I just hope they haven't dumped him :/// That Chasm cut scene got me crying for like 15 minutes straight. As soon as I get Nahida I'll put her in the Serenitea Pot surrounded by all other characters ❤️ Honkai, on the other hand, focuses a lot more on the characters stories than the world building which made me like and even LOVE literally all of them! From Kiana, Teri Teri, Elysia to even Otto, the most horrible and amazing villain I've ever read about. All of them have an unique way to make you like them and God damn Elysia really do be making me question my sexuality 😭 As far as gameplay goes, Honkai is definitely more complex and fun. There are some interesting characters in Genshin as well such as Ayato (which is basically a Memento Sakura copy). But I really liked playing Memento when she was broken and seeing Ayato have a similar gameplay was really nice, but even that gameplay is so plain and it is like the most fun and animation appealing one imo. All you have to do is hold a button. I am trying to think of a more complex character to play in Genshin, but can hardly find any. The gameplay is really straightforward: spam attacks and create elemental reactions to maximize your damage or just play Ganyu and one shot everything if you're lazy to switch characters out. I actually like the simple gameplay Genshin has more because I can just brain afk play the game and focus on the story 😅, but in terms of fun and complexity, Honkai takes the crown.

While hte basics remain the same, the individual execution varies and makes each character feel more unique. In Genshin it was pretty cookie cutter, but in Honkai I have someone like Fischl who can trigger her own switch-in attack, and loop between summoning Oz and dropping electric pain from the sky, and I can switch to someone like Fu Hua who relies on actual combo attacks alternating the basic and ult attacks for more of a Dead or Alive/DMC style of beat up. Learning to use different characters effectively is a treat in Honkai and has me actually looking forward to new characters and seeing how good they feel ot play and who I prefer based on what I'm enjoying at the time. About the gacha systems, I do think Honkai is a lot more generous from their banners alone. Let's summarize this really quick: Genshin Impact: Character Wish: - guarantees a 5 star at the 90th pull - if your first 5 star isn't the featured character, then the second one will be guaranteed to be a 5 star (180 pulls max) - getting any 5 star will reset your pity count - 5 star characters include the featured character and the standard banner 5 stars Weapon Wish: - you can select what weapon you want to get via Epitomized Path - you are guaranteed a 5 star weapon on your 80th pull - if you didn't get your intended 5 star weapon the first time, you will have to get another unwanted 5 star weapon one more time to be able to guarantee your wanted 5 star weapon next (240 pulls max) - each 5 star weapon that you get will reset the pity count Honkai Impact 3rd: Character Banners: - guarantees an S Rank Battlesuit every 100th pull - the only S Rank Battlesuit that is featured in the character banner is the featured Battlesuit Weapon Supply: - guarantees a 4 star gear every 10 pulls and guarantees a *NEW* featured 4 star gear every 50 pulls - getting a 4 star will not reset your pity count but getting a featured 4 star will reset - when you have already obtained a featured 4 star gear, any duplicates of said gear will *NOT* reset the pity count - you are guaranteed to obtain all the featured gears within 200 pulls So just from the banners alone, it's a lot easier to obtain characters and gear in Honkai than it is on Genshin. Honkai's pulls does require more currency than Genshin (280 Crystals vs 160 Primogems) but from daily gameplay alone you can get up to 6 pulls per week in Honkai providing you're proficient enough to at least be stable in Agony III and clear Elysian Realm at least in Corruption difficulty (not counting daily Crystal subscription), whereas Genshin can only provide 420 Primogems weekly on the regular - not even barely enough for half the amount of pulls you can do in Honkai. Of course, Genshin still has a long way to go (it's 3 years younger in fact compared to Genshin) to improve on these things but at the pace they're going and the consistently more demanding gacha system I don't think they're going to get any better soon unless they introduce a drastic change in the gacha system. I suppose all we can do is just wait and see.

i think its poorly written in some parts and the endings dont feel that satisfying a lot. the dialogue often feels long and boring with no skip button for people who dont wanna read it. and they like to share lore in world quests which sucks cause they dont voice act those

Honkai has one of the best game story's that I've ever saw. It's emotional (Himeko...) and has a big universe as well. Even though I like genshin, I prefer Honkai more (Just my own opinion)...

I know a bit about both games, but I have been playing Genshin for about a year now, so there is going to be a bit of bias here: From my understanding, Honkai Impact feeds it's story to players on a silver platter. However, there is very limited if any open world content in Honkai, making it much easier to tell a chronological story. Genshin, on the other hand, has more trouble telling a comprehensive and connected story because players are allowed to play much of the content whenever they want and in whatever order they want. This doesn't mean Genshin's story is lacking though. On the contrary, I think it is much more interesting. It just takes a little brain power to piece everything together. The first two archon quests were unimpressive, but some of the story quests are emotional and rich. The Sumeru story quest is undeniably incredible. It had multiple layers and emotions and it really made you think. Much of Genshin's story is amazing, but people just aren't willing to take the time to learn it. I have seen a lot of people commenting that they just never felt emotionally connected to the characters in Genshin, which really made me sad. There are very few characters in the game that I actively dislike, and I always find myself ecstatic whenever I get to hang out with a character during a quest. I have grown to think of a lot of these characters as virtual friends, and I truly feel sadness for their sorrows and joy for their happiness. Xiao sacrificing himself for everyone at the end of the 2.7 archon quest made me cry, and Nahida being forced to erase Rukkhadevata from Irminsul to save her people is a moment I will never forget. And I haven't even mentioned Ei and her sister, the trauma and pain in Childe's family, the guilt Venti feels about the use of his dead friends likeness, the generational trauma in Diluc's family, and many, many more examples I could delve into. Each character has their own touching backstory and likable characteristics and it really confuses me why people wouldn't feel attached to them. I'm not trying to say Honkai doesn't have likable characters too, they just (once again) fed their stories to players on a silver platter. I have to chock people's apathy towards Genshin characters up to laziness once again because I know that if people actually took the time to get to know these characters, they would love them as much as I and many others do. As for the combat, the two games are totally different, and each is amazing in it's own way. For people who like just bashing their way through a crowd of enemies, Honkai is fine. Genshin's combat system may not be as flashy, but in my opinion it is much more interesting. It is much more reaction based which makes Genshin more tactical, and I felt that was lacking in Honkai. I found Honkai combat boring because it felt mindless, whereas Genshin's combat makes me feel like I am actually apart of the fight. In the end, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and mine is just one of many. However, I felt like Genshin was poorly represented in this video at a pretty, shallow, money maker. I will leave this off by saying, there is a reason one game is more popular than the other.

Honkai's combat system is better. Genshin's combat is for children. You don't seem to have criteria enough to compare more things like the gacha system, endgame content, progresion system, etc, which honkai is better in as well.

For me I would choose honkai impact because surprisingly my phone was able to support it even if there is some lag issues , it is still playable and enjoyable So for low end device player I would totally recommend this game if your device can't support genshin impact.

Story, Genshin, Honkai Impact 3rd, Honkai Star Rail, all of these are story centered games, Genshin also contains a lot of expiration and amazing views, it also has amazing lore (the surface lore peaks after the Inazuma arc tho, otherwise all the lore is hidden in artifacts, random pages, etc, but lore videos cover them) Honkai Impact isn't as open world, all of part 1 and part 1.5 is confined within levels, with some open world exploration nearing the end of part 1, part 1.5 also had open world exploration in the later half. Part 2 is completely open world with better graphics than both HSR and HI3rd (Also Sakura Samsara, st Freya, APHO, APHO 2 outdated open-world) Honkai story is much more straightforward, as in you can see it on the surface and don't have to dig into various different things for it, but Honkai impacts lore is vastly different to Genshin, it's very deep and contains a lot of dark topics, e.g. suicide, depression, death, possession, sacrifice Honkai impacts combat is also more complicated, where Genshin is just simplistic rotations and then button mash, Honkai impact requires deep investment, a lot of reading, and complicated rotations where you manage SP and cooldowns, QTE's, Ults to get some damage in, and that's if the enemy isn't in an immune phase, which means you have to regulate the boss too
