Lifelong Gentle Giant fan here. Personally, they're the easiest band I've ever listened to, and they're still my primary music source. After hearing each album a zillion times, this is my list (starting with the best) : 1. The Power and the Glory 2. Three Friends 3. In a Glass House 4. Acquiring the Taste 5. Free Hand 6. Octopus 7. Nicely done Video - Thank You My personal list is kind of some unpopular opinions: 1 - In´terview 2 - Three Friends 3 - Free Hand 4 - Acquiring the Taste 5 - Octopus 6 - Giant for a Day (Maybe the most unpopular placing - I kind of have a soft spot for this one - It gives me a feeling of "True art looks simple" - but indeed i had to get into it after being very disappointed in the first second and third place; extremely strange, that an album sounding so simple took so much time to grow on me, but it did, so here it is) 7 - The missing Piece 8 - The Power and the Glory 9 - Gentle Giant 10 - In a Glass House (The other very unpopular opinion - maybe i´m just too dumb, but it just doesn´t catch me) 11 - Civilian

Great video and nice to include inserts from each album. Longtime GG fan since 73 first song I heard was An Inmates Lullaby on radio and got out and got In A Glass House and Octopus straight away and later in 76 saw em live. Since the years my fav´s have altered a lot but now they are: 1. Three Friends 2. Acquiring the Taste 3. Octopus 4. The Power and the Glory 5. In A Glass House 6. Gentle Giant 7. Free Hand 8. To me, nothing beats the classic 4. After Phil Shulman's departure, things would never be the same again. Still good but just a little notch under. Since I know Gentle, and it's a long time, I have always considered Acquiring the Taste my fav but I'm slowly basculating into Three Friends if it's not already the case.

great presentations of the band, which also almost exactly reflects my own ranking of the albums. It was exciting to see how far up the ranking 'Three Friends' would go. Usually, the album never makes it to the top. It was great fun to watch the video - and the latest (?) addition to the family ;-). Thanks!

As a Gentle Giant " FANATIC ", I personally love ALL of Gentle Giant albums !!! I don't have a least favorite Gentle Giant album. I consider myself A Giant For A Day " EVERY DAY " !!!!!!

Ich freue mich ja immer, wenn jemand GG mag, aber er hat nichts verstanden. Statt danach zu suchen, ob er einen Song als "Folk" oder "Jazzrock" bezeichnen kann, hätte besser versuchen sollen, die Struktur und Eigenheit der Nummern und der Alben herauszuarbeiten. Keine Empfehlung.
