Wow, what a timely word. I see so much division in the church; aren't we just playing into the hands of the enemy? He wants to see us divided so we cannot stand. Now, more than ever, we need to be a united front in love and truth. It was Jesus' prayer "that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us” (John 17:21) We need to keep our eyes fixated on Him and know that we are fighting in the Lord's army - instead of fighting each other and thus hindering Kingdom advancement.
Jesus said to him, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me." -John 14:6
This verse really spoke to me, because for decades I was completely deceived, thinking that there was more than one way to God or that hell didn't really exist. Especially in the past few years, the seemingly innocuous language about the Universe, or Source energy, or that we are all one - seemed true enough. Proverbs 14:12 states, "There is a way which seems right to a person, but its end is the way of death." All those years, I was in a sleepy daze. How dare we equate the universe as God the creator? The universe is a created thing. We formulated a god in our own minds - not the God of the bible. I grew up in church, and found Christianity to be narrow-minded, when in fact it IS the narrow way - the way that leads to life everlasting. But the difference is, this invitation is open to ALL. Jesus stands with His arms open, desiring that no one should perish. When the Lord opened my eyes to the spiritual war and the deception that the enemy had over my life, it made me heartbroken for everyone who is still under deception, completely bound. God stated in His word that the enemy deceives the whole world. We need to continue shining the light of the Truth of Jesus - that He is the only Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. When we know Him (the Truth), He shall make us free. And who the Son sets free, is free indeed.
Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will follow My word; and My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make Our dwelling with him." -John 14:23
What a beautiful picture of unity. Can you imagine Jesus and Father God dwelling in us? We don't want Him to just occasionally visit. We want to make them permanent roommates - what a blessing! We need to continually demonstrate our love for Jesus by following His word. We should not be conformed to this world, "but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect".
Father God, thank You for revealing Your truth through Your word - and for sending Your only Son as a meditator between God and men. Only through Jesus can we be reconciled to You; it is only by the blood of Jesus that we can even approach You. Thank you for making a way when there was no way - THE Way. Help us to continually follow His word and also love each other as He instructed, for that is the way the world will know that we are His disciples. Help us to be a united front in this fight against darkness. Help us to remember that we are all in the Lord's army, and that we shouldn't waste energy fighting our brothers and sisters in Christ. In Jesus' name, amen.
