Hello, Preston. A dermatologist on KZbin said the time to put on antiperspirant is at night to give it time to seep into the glands. Putting it on in the morning can cause it to be prematurely wiped off before it has a chance to work. I hope this helps.

Dear Preston, concerning the shirts I would like to advise you not to get rid of all the oversized ones (if you plan to do so). We have to bear in mind that most men get a bit more sturdy in the second half of their 20s or at the beginning of their 30s. Sometimes you can estimate the changes of your body when you look at the development of older family members that have your bodytype. So if you want to save your investment, single out those shirts which might fit later and store them away savely. In my early 20s, I bought a lot of extra slim fit shirts which I had to replace sucessively after becoming 25. Fortunately I was able to sell the smaler ones at a resonable price. On the one hand, that gave me the oportunity to optimize fit and style, on the other hand it was a big investment.

I too suffer from hyperhidrosis and found that wearing a thin padded undershirt has extended the life of my shirts from a few months to a few years! They are a great option and pretty cheap on amazon but avoid extra thick padding, as it is of lower quality. Best thing about it is the boost in confidence when you take the jacket off and there are no stains on your nice shirt. Keep up the great work

Have you tried undershirts? Cotton for starter. Then there is wool. Wool absorbs every well. Ultrafine wool jersey undershirts found at Rambler’s way. A US company. Husband switched to that for summer and he actually feels cool. Wool wicks and evaporates. No smells. Just do not wear chemicals underarms as those deteriorate the natural fiber. I am a pro handspinner so use wool a lot.

There is a helpful addition to your dressing, called undergargarment shields. They can be stuck onto your undergargarments and absorb sweat to keep your shirts dry. You could also try wearing natural fibers, they usually breathe better from my experience. Thank you for talking about quality in shoes and the toxins in mens toiletry products.

My favourite pair of shoes are a pair of light beige Penny loafers from British Passport. I’ve had them since 2015, and the thing I notice about them is that over time, they have actually become almost fortified, rather than worn. I take good care of them, treat and polish them, and never wear them in wet weather. But both the shoes themselves and the leather sole, have become more robust over time. And I can’t stress enough the Blundstone line for a work or casual boot. They’re as warm as a winter boot, but still suit 3 seasons (I’d avoid them in the summer). They’re also waterproof. They can be worn with a wide range of outfits, and they’re very comfortable for even long walks.

I moved to the US 10 years ago, and ever since ive struggled to find mens wear at a lower price point. I used to get staples in reasonable quality, then with some upgraded items mixed in. Ive been too busy working to have time to find proper stores. Either it was far too expensive, $2,500 for basic suit a j.o.banks, or far too low quality, walmart, sears etc. What is a good lower-mid range mens store, that is not too low quality, where one can get some basic items, while still not look like bottom of the barrel?

preston!!! i too sweat quite a lot under my arms. but last year, i tried out the thompson tee, and it changed everything. don't worry, this is not a product advertisement and i'm not getting paid anything by them for this message. their undershirts are made from a specially thick fabric under the arm pits that literally blocks any sweat coming through. i've been using them for close to a year now and it's worked wonders. i don't use anto-perspirants any longer, and i don't have yellow pit stains either. please check them out and even consider giving them a try. i think you'll like them a lot.

I'd like to point somethings from this vídeo: I hve decreased a lot my usage of deodorants and feel much better; sure the quarentine plays a big part on that, but even prior I was already actively thinking and working in using less and less, specially after noticing that some of my shirts were ruinned in the armpits. You look nice in that black hat, a bit too formal, sure, but it gives you a classic detective look which I find awesome!

Another hyperhydrosis sufferer here, but mine is limited to hands and feet and it runs in the family. I sweat under the arms, but it's a normal amount. Anti-perspirant is the work of the devil and used to make my armpits itch like crazy. It also ruined a few items of clothing. I now use deodorant and it's surprising how hard it is to find now. I can only get Old Spice in the shops.

Dear Preston, I am a Thoracic Surgeon in Brazil. Hyperhidrosis is a cumbersome condition, but there are many ways to treat it. The most common are: 1 - Botox injections in the axillae 2 - A procedure called thoracic sympathectomy. Both have pros and cons, but are very good. You should consult with a Thoracic Surgeon or a Dermatologist. It will improve your quality of life!! And your shirts too!!! Best Regards

For my money, the 2 most reliable underarm deodorants are: - A) shaved, freshly moisturized armpits; - B) natural, breathing fabrics. Never had a notable smell issue since adopting that combo. I'll still use mild deodorant every now and then, but it almost feels like a belt + suspenders kind of precaution. When I do get a little sweaty (typically hot weather, or wearing layers in crowded public transportation,) I actually favour carrying a small pack of disposable wet wipes.

I just got my first suit and dress shoes. I’m pretty happy with the suit but still battling with my self-criticism on it. I can’t complain at all on the shoes though, I got the Allen Edmonds Fifth Avenue in black. I think the suit jacket is just a hair too tight in the midsection and in the sleeve diameter, and the sleeve pitch might be off for me. The button doesnt quite pull, but gives a slight line on one side when standing (slight enough it could likely be corrected with a shift of the button) and the sleeves just wrinkle a bit more than I would like. I feel like I’ve started in a good direction though, and can’t wait to explore more styles and get another jacket some day, and hopefully improve each time over.

My first suit is a three piece indego with contrasting polyester shawl lapels in grey. The jacket is a single button and the cut is a little too deep so it doesn't look too good without a vest. The fabric also felt very cheap, it's almost plasticy and have a weird pattern. To be fair I wanted to wear it for a wedding when I was merely 14 years old and had very little knowledge on suits as a whole. I do use the waistcoat and trousers occasionally but the jacket is practically impossible to be worn as a suit seperate

hello i want to be clear from the start i'm not writing this as a hate comment but as a informative one specificly on the part where you say you should you use shampoo 1-2 times per week well that depends on the hair type and the scalp condition some people should use shampoo on a daily basis because if their hair and scalp remain unwashed even for a few days can feel itchy irritated or very oily which causes discomfort and yes you can also use dry shampoo as a quick alternative but overusing it can cause the hair and scalp to feel crunchy and dry also some conditioners can heavy down the hair or make them feel soft (people with thick unruly hair can actually benefit from this feature) or make them look oily which makes them hard to style (if you style your hair) or makes the hair look nasty thats why you should look for conditioners that dont leave your hair oily, heavy and extremely soft
