We made friends with a couple years ago when visiting Cornwall. Their red setter dog was the dog in the first season (or 2). Declan was a handsome boy and convinced my husband to agree to get a dog (literally 2 months later 😂). We remained friends and met up a couple of times and randomly while we were in the Lake District this summer, I spotted Declan along the street which my husband said he didn’t believe it was “actual” Declan but it was! Our dog is a springer called Whisky and he is epileptic. Weirdly Declan developed epilepsy the last few years. Sadly he passed away a few weeks after we bumped into them and all went for coffee and cake🥺. Glad I got a few snuggles from him. Anyway, that was a long story to say “I know the dog in season 1 of All Creatures Great and Small” 🙈

Your mum's message was so lovely! Makes me think of some quotes by Morgan Harper Nichols and Charlotte Eriksson I saw on Pinterest. I think they both have poetry books. Morgan Harper Nichols has an affirmation/quote that is " I am making room for things that heal my heart," and Charlotte Eriksson has a quote that says "drink a glass of water, make the room dark, lie down and close your eyes, notice the silence, notice your heart, still beating, still fighting, you made it after all, you made it another day, and you can make it one more, you are doing just fine."
