As far as the paint, all you gotta do is get one drop of sweat in it and it will be fish eye city. Easy mistake to do. Glad you got it finished with new product.

Tim I also recommend getting the H&S Motorsports upper and lower fuel filter kits for the 6.7 I just put them on my 2020 it changes both fuel filters to spin on filters, much better than the $100 plastic filters from ford. And keep doing what your doing by teaching Braxton and all your kids the way to do things the right way, We need more parents like you and your Wife.

Your the best dad, but leave battery's to the big boys. I drove that tandem dump trucks my whole life and worked on them. My boss always made sure that I would take scrap rubber tubes from the tires cut out a big square and cover the whole battery in case something vibrate or whatever so nothing would ever spark on it. Take care keep up the good work.

Hey Tim. I put that disaster prevention kit on the last 6.7 Powerstroke I had among others things. Purchased mine from SPE because their kit didn’t require any cutting. It did save me because I lost my high pressure pump. Replaced the pump for $1200 and didn’t have to spend $15k on an entire fuel system.

Not being sarcastic but shouldn't that be covered by the factory warranty if new just curious if you know
@jaredspear8140
@jaredspear8140 Жыл бұрын
@@johnspratt4421 that’s a good question and I understand. I’ve been told it is and been told it is not. The source saying it’s covered under the power train warranty tends to stretch the truth. Biggest part is being without the truck for weeks while they hunt down parts even if it is covered. And the fact is Tim will rack up 100,000 plus on this in a short amount of time (sad you have to preface anything with “not being sarcastic” because of peoples feelings these days, lol). Good question though, honestly have not heard it from the dealers mouth
@johnspratt4421
@johnspratt4421 Жыл бұрын
@@jaredspear8140 yeah that makes since I prefer trucks wo def or that has exhaust issues removed but being under that warranty is a nice blanket for my intended use and if a repair like that is not covered then why not have it done guess I will need to research it more lol.

@@johnspratt4421 honestly is a toss up. I deleted and did disaster prevention kit along with FASS fuel system and 65 gal Titan fuel tank. It’s was a pain. But nice. Two months later high pressure fuel pump went down. Money well spent. Luckily a good friend owns a ford diesel shop so we replaced quickly and then sold the truck! Good trucks but this CP4’s are ridiculous. Had one starting to go bad at 34k on a Ram 2500 Cummins. Again sold it to not mess with headaches!

If you can get a gravity grain wagon Maybe you can get some cracked corn from a Co-Op or from a local farmer that has a feed grinder. And you can get some other ingredients to mix into it but youou'd have a big feed bin where you wouldn't have to constantly go out and get a pallet of food. Usually you can find them with tarps on top or you can put one over the top . But yeah when you get your barn going you can get these, like small feed silos or bins that are gravity fed or whatever.

I hope you have luck with that argossy. Here in Australia they are only good for boat anchors. I had the misfortune of driving one, and mind you it was brand new. Well over the years I drove it everything that could crack and break in the cab did, constant breakdowns with the dd15 motor and countless replacements of electric window components. Nothing like driving about 150km/h of a 3000km trip to have the window stuck half down. (Adelaide to Perth). No one has theses parts until you reach Perth. The floor around the gear stick actually cracked open. You can imagine the heat coming through when the horton kicks in when its 113 degrees outside towing a roadtrain. Best of luck. I could go on on with the breakdowns.

Tim here’s another YOU NEED TO but take and look into Rust Bullet for painting your trailers it’s a two component paint , it’s a serious paint that is flexible but it’s hard and we go about every 4-5 years before we relipstick and since we started using Rust Bullet well the three drop decks that were our first with Rust Bullet are just starting to show rust and it’s just over 9 years The first coat is 3 to 4 applications of a gray or silver or silver gray base then you spray your top coat they have a Black and white and the white is tin table to be whatever color it’s a little time consuming to put the paint down the EXACT way in the directions but it’s worth it in my opinion cause we run heavy equipment all through New England and the ice preventative is corrosive I mean it eats some iron try it I’m telling ya Be Safe, Big Jon

One thing to keep in mind. It appears that you guys are just wire wheeling the rust off the metal or grinding it. If you do not use a rust converter under your paint it’s just going to rust again keep in mind that metal begins to rest the day it’s manufactured. Plus you put something in there to totally encapsulate it you’re going to have problems. Once it has rusted rust will start again easily so you need to encapsulate it with rust converter. I would also suggest that you put a coat of epoxy primer has your first coat of the defense. And then give it a light scuffing then apply your high build urethane primer. Polyurethane paint is beautiful on cars and durable. But on your trailers, I would recommend using the POR 15 paint because when it dries it is rockhard and durable. That’s what it was designed for but it will work well on your frames for both your trucks and your trailers, but stay to the polyurethane for the truck cabs and fenders. I’ve painted many cars over the years. I started painting back when we used to use straight enamel and it took several days to dry before you could sanded or do anything to it. Urethane paint has been my favorite for years.

Have you tried Eastwood companies POR 15 paint and rust converter. With the rust converter your knock off the crusty bits but don’t grind it to bare metal. Coat it with the rust converter. Any places that are not rusty do not coat. Let that dry then coat the whole frame rail with POR 15 paint it is some of the toughest nastiest Paint ever for framework underneath cars etc. give it a try on one of your trailers and compare it against the rest and see how long it lasts

I agree on the brakes failing during parade. Sad but not criminal. And lots of gm vehicles early 2000s brakes are same. At hiway speed wheel speed sensors. Only need to see reluctor ring movement. At low speed they need to see every revolution. Rust build up under sensors. To much gap occurs. They will fail at low speeds. Causing abs to fail.
