I love Overture man, it’s a 10/10 for me and my favorite out of my 10 or 11 Amouages. I couldn’t understand when people say fragrances can grow on you, but Overture actually took a few wearing for me to understand and love it.

Just got a sample of this. 2 sprays on my arm. The whiffs I've been getting as I'm walking through the house are amazing. Performance and protection on this is great. To me it smells more animalic when I put my nose to my arm but when in the air not so much. Very happy with this. Looking to get a full bottle

I bought a decant last fall and picked up a full bottle at $190 earlier this year from FragranceBuy, not normally in stock. With great respect and love for so many Amouage frags: Interlude, Interlude Black Iris, Journey Man, Jubilation, Reflection, Royal Tobacco, Lyric Man...and more---this is my hands down favorite. I agree, the opening is a breathtaking blast with so many notes coming out strong, and it works superbly. I DO pick up the animalic in the opening, and I like it. Dry down is superb as well. It is such a classy scent, I've never smelled it on anyone else, which I love. This was Christopher Chong's last production as the Director at Amouage and, IMHO, he conducted a symphony with this creation.

@@rogerowens7888 Jubilation XXV for year around. Reflection Man for very hot weather. Lyric can be worn all seasons, a lot of guys don't like a strong rose scent. I wear the others in warm weather, but wear them more lightly.

@@davercountingcigars , it is very strong , if you touch your nose to the sprayer you will smell it all day + . I think it’s stronger than Interlude Man . Resins , musk, incense, animal malic . Myrrh heavy.. spicy on skin

This is the best of what i would call the "newer" amouages. Unfortunately this is a winter scent so in texas means i get to wear this a few times a year. I enjoy the whole journey from the blast of cardamom & cognac & smoke to the sandalwood dry down. The box is supposed to be opera theatre curtains btw. Not wood 😃

I own this one, opening is the best. It’s definitely funky and mature smelling. It’s a proper niche fragrance, doesn’t smell like anything else.

I bought mine a month ago, such a smooth sweet perfume. Performance is a 3.7out of 5. No BO scent at all, can’t smell the cumin much. Smells like grapefruit, spices and mature sweetness. It’s a must have for gentlemen over 35

Opening or drydown doesn't matter to me this is an easy 10/ 10. I put it right up there in the #1 Amouage slot for me with Interlude Black Iris.

Love at fist sniff, that's all I can say. Maybe I have an underdeveloped nose but to me it also smells like honey in the opening, just a tiny bit...or at least it gives me that honey vibe. It's sublime, Amouage really never disappoints ✌️ Thanks for the review Ash.

Where what you like whenever you want. I wear it year round. Most people don't spray a cologne right when they walk in the office so don't concern yourself with the opening.

I got a sample of this along with a few others. At first it was just OK, I didn't care for it too much but for some reason I put it on last night and it smelled incredible. Now I am on the hunt for it. Great review, as always.

I really like Amouage Jubilation XXV, and I'd like to know how Overture Man compares with that fragrance. Based on the profile notes, they both seem to big resin and incense forward fragrances, but with Overture Man an amped up version. I really want to try this one now.

Completely different. Overture is smoky, animalic, leathery, much more aggressive. Jubilation is way more chill and smooth.

They aren't similar at all. They both got the myrrh and resin. But jube25 is like being in a regal dining room dressed in velvet as a welcoming host. Overture is a smoky pool hall and you're in a leather jacket in a back vip room and people come to the pool hall to see you but you're not always available. I love overture as there's more versatility in wearing it. Jube is sweet and nice but it is hard other than a special dinner occasion at a palace.

@@bryanryan4504 I finally got a sample of Overture Man, and I agree with you 100%. Overture isn't an amped up version Jube25. Both are powerful fragrances, but completely different. If they were movie stars one would be Pierce Brosnan and the other would be Marlon Brando.

I've only tried one Amouage fragrance, Journey Man. It's my scent of the day. Got a decant through Scentbird. I kind of hate it. Not sure if that scent just isn't for me, or if I just don't have the nose for niche. But the opening is harsh and sour.
