Totally agree. They sent me a free bottle to make up for their customer service. Nice gesture really. I received the bottle, and it was terrible, Nothing close to the original. I'm not a snob by any means. I had no issue with letting it sit, like three months. No change. I left a review on their site... nothing terrible. I suggested it might have been a bad batch. Of course, it was deleted. I'm actually very disappointed , Ash is doing these. To each their own, and as such, I will skip his Dua vids.

What a lot of people don’t understand about why Dua cost more than the average clone is because of the concentration of their fragrances. They’re higher than the originals and other clones meaning you get great performance. They use extrait de parfum which is the highest concentration a fragrance can have not counting attars (oils). Higher concentration = less sprays=not re-stocking your supply as often. It’s really just that simple.

Totally agree. I only bought a Dua as they had a remake of an old discontinued fragrance CK Crave. The Dua version was called Craveme. The Dua version although much thicker and heavier was so close to the OG only much better quality. Well worth the price in my circumstances. I was very impressed.

They're a great resource for discontinued fragrances that land close to the original. The fact that they use extrait de parfum concentration will change the way the fragrance mists, disperse, and dries. So, the fragrance will change some in practical use from that.

Duas improve when you let them sit for a few weeks, I have around 100 Duas, I can tell around 70% of them improved with maturation, some more than others. The reason is, all fragances go thru a maturation process on stills at factories. Duas are assembled on order so they miss this time, allow them time and you will be even more impressed on how, must of the time, you can hardly tell the difference with the OG, and several times with a lot better performance.

Dua Brand obsevations: Clone accuracy is hit and miss, but quality is consistently excellent, in my experience. Lighter, more airy scent profiles sometimes do not benefit from the extrait concentration. Some bottles improve with maceration and some don't. After initial aeration, some bottles require a few weeks to mature and some can take months, often deepening in colour. Juice that remains in the stem between uses can become further oxidized, making you think the bottle has gone off until it clears. Dua is the best resource for many discontinued Tom Ford titles.

I use to love dua. Had about 25 fragrance from them. They changed something in their ingredients because all the fragrances had a very NASTY musty base. I brought two for someone as a gift and they literally gave them back to me a week later. Since then lattafa has came in a crush the clone space. Now I can't see myself paying $60 for a 1oz clone. $60 for 30ml Plus having to wait weeks for the fragrances macerate.

Dua has an insane amount of hybrid clones on their website, so many that I can't keep up with them all lol I do have a few of their fragrances and they're all pretty awesome. Bought Vert Instinct from them years ago (clone of the long discontinued Creed Green Valley) and a clone of Aventus Cologne. Their clone of BDK Wood Jasmin is EXCELLENT! Actually got that one from someone selling a bottle on Mercari because Dua's site has been sold out of it for a while now.

I have about 35 Dua and I can say they are great. Many of the clones of designer brands tend to run $33 ($22 on weekends) and the Niche clones tend to be $55-60 ($42-48ish on weekend sales) I have bought many of these while already having the originals and they are extremely close and when you buy anything that had originally had poor performance it is usually a great performer when they make it. The only one I didn't like the longevity of was the Romance clone. Most are 10-12 hour with about 5 sprays.

Ash, Dua makes some great stuff, like any other clone house, sometimes they miss the mark but for the most part they usually do a great job, from my experiences. One clone that's needed for better longevity purposes is Gentlemen Reserve Privee. Maybe you could use your influencer status and push for them to give us a longer lasting clone of Gentlemen Reserve Privee, I haven't seen any clones on this anywhere so far. We definitely need a longer lasting Reserve Privee! Maybe even with a little more whiskey and a bit more iris!

Hey Ash, can you have a look at their clones of much more luxury fragrances like fragrance du Boi, they have a few Harold exclusive and a few very rare fragrances... I bought two which are on their way... one is called 'Exclusive Chypre Tier ' combination of Roja Harold's Exclusive Black Tier and Roja Chypre Extraordinare, I also got Saint Jean De Braye by Christian Dior, Dua's version is called a place in France... lastly they have an attar version of the old formulation of la nuit de l'homme, which I think you'd find interesting... it's called midnight rendezvous attar..

I have the DUA Absolu and can tell you that it is excellent. I have 8 or 9 of the revered Aventus clones on my shelf. Each just missing a few sprays -all fails! This Absolu scent does it for me. It ends my pathetic search for Aventus. It wasn’t a giving up in as much as it was a finding of an absolutely beautiful scent that suits me AND in my opinion is very similar to the ghost of years ago, the long lost Aventus. One final note. Though I am thrilled with this dua scent, I am now curious to try the other hyped Absolu clones.

Maceration is done during the blending of the ingredients. There is nothing happening when you spray a fragrance and let it sit, unless you actually created the fragrance from scratch with raw and synthetic ingredients. Placebo effect

I was wearing Caribbean Supernova and Caribbean Desire last summer and fall in evenings when I was in areas where mosquitos were a problem and avoided being bitten. Your mileage may vary, but give fragrance with coconut a try if you have problems with mosquitos. Dua also has Exotic Hammer as a nice coconut containing option (if you don't mind a bit of floral in the mix or layer something more masculine over it, like Acqua Di Gio, for a coconutty ADG-esque flanker).
