Yoy Istenem, how beautiful. We grew up in English Canada, my great-grandparents came first, then my grandparent alone when they were 12 years old and then more family after the Revolution. They always spoke English "on the street" but as kids and a few yeas off Saturday Hungarian language school lessons, we learned how to understand our parents, especially when they were talking about us .When family would get together back then, the violins would come out, carpets would roll up and kitchen tables moved out.... for a Czardash.... it was always magical to watch and still is....

Wow...great dancers...used to dance the czardas all the time when I was a young boy with my mother...beautiful

did you mean Csardas? there's no z after the c, that's because cs is actually one letter in Hungarian it's pronounced chi, like the energy :))

Wow is right! This would be such a great dance to learn. Grace and exuberance and beauty. Here because of a reference in my favourite children's book called 'The Good Master' set in Hungary 1910's .

I love it. Vivid, elegant, with a bit of wild streak. I wonder if it is widely danced in Hungary, like on a mass scale. Does everyone can dance it? (Like polonez in Poland). Greetings from Poland to Hungarian friends ❤

kzbin.info/www/bejne/hn6ZiZqafJyUodk here's an example. not many people below the age of 40 can still dance it, but it's progressively being reintegrated into younger populations

well, not as much, more like in traditional dances preserving communities or rural settings, balls, weddings, that sort of thing. As generations go by, these traditions are dying out.

@@makita3680 They are different. Hungarian is a nationality. Romani are a a group of people, they do not have a specific country and can live anywhere. The two cultures can have similarities, partially due to the fact that lots of Romani people came to Hungary in the old days and still live here. You can be Romani and Hungarian, but they most definitely are not one and the same. Romani people are generally an Indo-Aryan ethnic group, while Hungarians have Finno-Ugric (+Turkish, Slav and Germanic) blood. Also, Romani are very widespread in England and Ireland too. That would be saying that English and Romani mean the same.
