Joe, thanks for chiming in, we have lots of work to do, even at this point we know who most of the leaders are in each division, and we need to think about who else will likely be a starter as well, to me, having a great Juvenile Friday is essentially important and all the races are likely to be well matched fields for exotics, every bit of information helps

Walter, thanks for tuning in, we have 3+ weeks to get all of our work done, soon enough we'll have the PP's for all possible starters in each division, but we know at least 7 starters in each division for sure, so I get busy on them, especially with the juveniles, total preparation is essentially important

Thanks for your input always valuable information. I’m not always sure what I’m looking at in replays, just a thought for a show maybe showing some replays and giving pointers on things to look for.

Diane, Good evening, delighted to see your reply, I hope you enjoyed your weekend at Keeneland and made some nice profits, as for all I'm looking for, it depends on the horse, but generally, for example, for Juvenile fields, if they have just a few races under their belt, I want to see how professional they have been, at the gate, and as the race unfolds, where do they hit their best strides? do they run well inside? in between horses? do they rally powerfully on the grandstand side of the stretch? do they falter after getting eye-balled? do they look strong in the stretch and the gallop out? how are they around the first turn in all their races? does the Post position matter greatly? things of that nature, I may put together a show in the future giving examples

@@geo7settePastTheWireThank you that helps a lot. Had so much fun at Keeneland, but need to get better at putting my bets together. Could have won a lot more.

Thanks Geo ! Do you look for more Win Bets at BC because of field size than EX, Tri and Super ?
@geo7settePastTheWire
@geo7settePastTheWire 8 күн бұрын
Gary, it all depends on how I feel about my full handicap for the race, and of course if my horse is a generous overlay, dismissed by the betting public, It starts with my Win bet, just last year at the BC I loved Big Evs and I was unsure about several underneath, so I made a big win bet, skipped the exactas and played a Triple and Superfecta Key, however in all the BC races, as I mentioned I always cover my precise Exacta, Triple and Super alone straight, because when i am precisely right, I need to get paid, if I like two horses very strongly in back to back races in a P5 sequence, I will play a big DD to score within the sequence which funds my main P5 bet the beautiful thing about the BC every single year, is in almost every race, you will find VERY talented horses being overlooked and become inflated Overlays, that's why it's important to create your own ML , if you feel a horse you have handicapped should be 7-1 tops, and he's on the board at 28-1 , that's special, that's what i want

I am Wondering how you compare times of the best horses (such as Fierceness, Forever Young, City of Troy, Sierra Leone. Do you study their times in every race -- and every fraction of each race? Do you just follow the DRFs, study their latest workouts, then make your own comparison chart? I guess you notice patterns, then draw pictures of the race. I can usually guess, which horses will be in mid pack, but it is hard for me to separate the very best horses in the BC.

Good evening and thanks for reaching out, that's a good question, Yes, I account for their times in all their races, I'm a Beyer scale handicapper, I use it to my advantage, in addition I look for specific patterns, and realize their current pattern leading to the BC, I watch/study their current workouts too, they are essentially important, to me an indication of fitness, some race replays I watch several times, and as I indicated, I keep notes and I target a specific post position draw especially where I know the horse will be more comfortable and less challenged by it

I love when Mr G refers all the time to ' My Handicap'.....that basically translates to ' how the heck should I know'....thats why is listed at last 5 picks in every race for Me Geo ' handicap...and when the 4th choice Wins...." I had it"....😂

I'm sorry geo I'm not prepared with horese names but u just came up . 3 horses ask yr opinion that I was impressed with a few days back. Farbridge can he be compatible with b.c. horses now that they found out he just wants to be alone not just on lead but in back. Pretty impressive to out close motts filly after winning on lead against 2 appabee horses. At keenland u gave me I think number 2 in a turf sprint with m.smith maybe santa Anita he shot up rail very fast. Can he be good against cogburn. And at the mile turf same day that winner looked impressive can he compete against b.c. turf mile. He really looked good.

@@CarlCarlson-k5p Carl, First Peace & Johannes looked exceptionally sharp in winning their most recent starts, they both looked like they came out of the race strong, we'll need to see the works prior to the BC, but I'm expecting them both to go forward. As for Far Bridge she looked great defeating Champion Mare War Like Goddess, she had a fabulous inside trip with Rosario, at this point I'm not sure if that race took something out of her, she will be facing some real hard-hitting mares at the BC

@geo7settePastTheWire geo were u betting horses b4 1984 or just the b.c.races. not saying u were older. I've been playing horses since I was 14 15 yrs.old. but took a brake for 6yrs cause I went into the marines. My favorite horse back then was forego. Horse of the yr 3 or 4 yrs in a row. Carrying all that weight. That was the real here comes the train horse. As jon says now with others.
