These would filter me so hard I love your creativity lol. I'm waiting for my first hide to get approved just a magnetic one I created under a bridge. Thanks for the ideas

Please accept my apology !! I attempted placing caches near tracks around Ridgecrest , calif years back, but those tracks were live !!! I was advised back then, that it was illegal, and moved my caches. I do not recollect reading your post that they were NOT live tracks, so therefore, my reply regarding same ! You have humbled me - - - THANK YOU- - -Walt I deleted the original post a moment ago !!!!

Hey no worries. Indeed in the case of live tracks which is almost always the case you are right. No caches allowed for sure. But yes I lucked out at this location. How often r their decorative tracks?! Like never. So I jumped at the opportunity to make a safe er track cache for people. As yes always safety first!

Hope there good descriptions. I now know why i am not that good at finding them. Crazy hides. 🤪

Every cache I hide I want people to find. I always leave good hints and easter eggs in the titles and descriptions. Also field many a text message to help people along. Ultimately it’s about the journey, well AND the destination too.

What’s up man! I’m a beginner to geocaching and haven’t even found my first one yet! This is a great video with great content! I found your channel a few days ago and I was shocked at how great your intro to geocaching was! Thanks so much and keep doing what you are doing!

You know, the quick collage is actually a bit inspiring; makes me want to pay more attention to an open location that could use a geocache and think of a better way to create one, rather than look for a tree or bush to drop a typical container...
@CleverGeocacheHides2 жыл бұрын
Yep you got it! Just an extra thought, and a little more time can make that cache oh so memorable.

This just gave me an idea for a hide which is essentially just a tape measure camoflauged into a crack of a wall or bridge/ tunnel ceiling and needs to be pulled out to sign the log on the actually tape befiore being let go and disappearing back into place.
@CleverGeocacheHides Жыл бұрын
Yes! Tape measures are great! I actually did an entire build on a birdhouse that uses this very same style. Check it out.... kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKXPnGuBh8iJZ5I Make sure you get a good enough quality tape measure to last the test of time and that it is in a water proof spot like you said under a bridge.

Idea for what to put in a geocache: You could make up some characters and put drawings of them into it.

This popped into my feed randomly, and so your name intrigued me! Had to smile when I found out where you are from!!!! I just so happen to live in Fairfield, Ca, so I'll come find some of these this summer! I gotta admit though, some of these are pretty evil hides! heh heh! My favorite is the ammo can at the end...I have just the thing in mind when I go to hide a very special memorial hide! If you are ever in the Vallejo, Fairfield area, come to one our F.R.O.G.'s events!

I have found one of these caches and DNFed one. The next time we are in the Elk Grove Area, I will have to go caching for your name. Thanks for the inspriation. I will be back down in AZ this winter and want to hide something different than a rock pile by a fence post.

Nice!!! Damn I wish u lived here in NJ, I seem to be one of only a few making/hiding creative/sneaky/gadgety caches here… some great ideas I WIll steal!! Always thinking of new ones… I do more hiding than finding it seems. Katmomof3 one of mine was on the cover of ftf magazine last year if you read it.
@CleverGeocacheHides2 жыл бұрын
I actually just subscribed myself to FTF a couple days ago. A close geo-find of mine was featured in it. Ya I feel the same about hiding caches vs. finding them. For me it's more about the new place I am brought to and the journey to get there that is exciting. THat's why I enjoy creating cache experiences for people more. Get to read all those fun logs. Thanks for the comment and keep up the clever hides!
@katkaplan32 жыл бұрын
@@CleverGeocacheHides it’s a great mag for us geo nerds, the only one actually. I’ve been subscribed as long as I’ve been caching, so since 2012, and have had numerous pics, milestones etc over the years. But it was def cool to have my b&w dazzle camo gadget bird house on the cover, with an article I wrote inside with more photos. I’m sure you’ll enjoy every issue!! I’m limited due to mobility issues now- back/chronic pain, so I can’t do the long hikes or climbs I once did, for hiding or finding, but I try to find cool little spots of woods etc that are within east parking for my hides now.

@CleverGeocacheHides2 жыл бұрын
It's a hallowed 4x4 post I added magnetized to the other post. I also poured the concrete disc base so that it sits in the concrete holder. Adds to the Camo. Inside is a container that is actually a gag snake that pops out and the three containers above the light bulb are decoys with paper saying they are not the cache. Cache log is actually hidden inside the light bulb itself. It is plastic and opens like an Easter egg. SHHHHH don't tell anyone.

None. 45 foot elevation. It’s has snowed like twice in my 45 years. But only the light stuff. I’m about to head to minnesota to cache and I know the weather is reversed there. Good luck finding caches 8-10 mths of year if they r on the ground.

Nice video but are there many caches hidden by the railroad tracks? Souds like a dumb idea, children play the game
@lovegun1414 Жыл бұрын
it is a dumb idea! Unless it is not actually on rail land.?! That is why they are not allowed within 150 ft of active tracks. Assume it is an inactive rail or fake rail , or else the cache would not have been published.
@BrandonPatrickDev5 ай бұрын
You can see at 4:15 the tracks are not live.
@boriserjavec64702 жыл бұрын
aren't they destroying propriety like the rail road track one?
@CleverGeocacheHides2 жыл бұрын
The railroad spike was found loose on a hike at another location and was added to empty hole at the cache location. No property was destroyed to make the hide. Also the tracks are decorative and not connected to a live rail line. No danger to cachers.
