@TheAussieGeocacherSeemyshell8 ай бұрын
I find it to be the much better and easier to use app. So user friendly
@tiddalikreviewer72704 жыл бұрын
That covers most of it. A fair number of beginners try to use the compass app or get coords in a format like dd.dddd or dd.mm.ss rather than dd mm.mmm and wonder why their coords are off. If you do another video covering editing the listing would you add something about formats and conversions. (Not using an online conversion site. The old fashioned way with a bit of maths.)

I did consider this also, hence showing the dd mm.mmm format on both Cachly and the Geocache Listing page. This video could have gone on for 30min... haha. I’m compiling a ‘tips and tricks’ video for episode 10. I’ll place this on that list. If you have any others, feel free to PM me. Cheers mate.

I’ve found urban ones are harder to maintain and keep in order. I’ve got 100+ hides and there is one at the end of a street under rocks... it’s gone missing twice in around 3 months. Most of mine are along bush tracks and they have remained secure.
@TheAussieGeocacherSeemyshell3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the muggle factor is very real when it comes urban hides. They must be hidden well. Also, unfortunately, beginner geocachers like kids who only use the free app, are somewhat prone to not knowing the whole game. Making your hide "premium" will sometimes help.

I haven't gotten to the 100 caches yet but I watched this so I know what to keep in mind when I do. This was very helpful. I'm really enjoying finding geocaches so far and I'm looking forward to hiding some :)

Thanks for watching, be careful with any metal container like tins, as they rust easily and are not water resistant, you don’t want the good swag or logbook to get wet and moldy. Maybe try one on your backyard for a month or two and see how it stands up to the elements. Cheers 🍻
