It's not a real life story but it was a song made originally by Jimmy Dean, in 1961. Geoff's musical and video-editing skills are just wonderful. And even though I know it's not a true story this still makes me cry. Every time I see it. You're ritght, he never disappoints.

His fans know it is required to wear a set of headphones to listen to his covers. It makes me so happy to have Geoff breathe new life into this old song by Jimmy Dean. He takes note of where his clones are and what they are doing so they interact with each other. Just Geoff and his wife Kathy filmed this in a storage room. He does all the things, filming, editing, props, costumes, etc.

Thank you for reacting to one of our old time favorites we heard Tennessee Ernie Ford sing on the radio. We think Geoff did a masterful job on it and enjoy watching others'reactions.

The fact that he arranges, performs, films and edits his work himself is just amazing. This one was done in a storage area. It was only him and his wife and three cameras there that day. They borrowed the tools from his father's shed and that was it. He is very clever in how he is able to "look" at the other Geoff's in the video. The only piece he's done with harmony where he did not show multiple Geoff's is Sound of Silence. Great reaction, Greg!!

Jimmy Dean was an acquaintance of mine and he would have loved this version for sure! Geoff is an amazing low bass! Really good to see you Greg. See you on the next one. Besides singing and selling sausage, Jimmy Dean was an actor too. He starred on TV in Daniel Boone.

Jimmy Dean has quite a catalog of his own, but as usual, every Geoff/VoicePlay cover of old hits like this one becomes my new favorite version. :)

I remember hearing this song for the first time when I was a little girl and just bursting into tears. I've never watched one of your reactions before but the title was enough to bring me in-loved it! Oh, and I love your T-shirt ❤👍

Brother, this song played out a thousand times in the coal mines of West Virginia and Eastern Kentucy in the early to mid 1900s. My mother grew up in a mining town called Helen in West Virginia. You need to see Geoff's cover of "16 Tons". The strength of the men and women that built this country is incredible and here we are today.....pissing it away!

As mentioned, Jimmie Dean wrote and sung this hit in 1961. It was also performed by Johnnie Cash. Great rendition by Geoff. Love his narrating voice.

Tennessee Earnie Ford was the first I recall to make this song famous - before Jimmy Dean, if I’m not mistaken. I’m 75 years old and I was either a child or a teenager when I first heard this.

This is a real song. My dad likes the talking songs. C.W. McCall does talking songs. I think you would like them. "Wolf Creek Pass" and "Convoy" are 2 good ones. I'm disabled so I don't have any money to donate for these songs but if I did I would. You could just listen to them if you want and let me know what you think.

Hi Greg, in answer to your question whether this is a real song, it is. A country singer named Jimmy Dean in 1961 released this, and it became one of his bigger, perhaps his biggest hit. Who is he? Well, if you go to the grocery store, to the packaged meat section and pick up some Jimmy Dean sausage? Yep, same guy! :)

What does the phrase "real song" mean to you? It's not a _pop_ song. But Geoff didn't write it. I'm not sure how to classify it; it feels like a folk song, but I think it's more famous than most folk songs. It has blues elements, but I'm not sure that's quite the right classification either. Wikipedia calls it Country, but that's a rather broad category with very blurry edges, and even so it's not clear to me that this song belongs in it; Geoff's version certainly does not.
