I often tell people my dream team would be Geoff Lawton and Paul Stamets designs in combination with Jacque Fresco's concepts . Paul Stamets has some great bioremediation ideas that could be incorporated into gabion and swale designs . It’s so true ! there’s so many of us out there that want to get involved .

Looking at all the sewers draining water along roads into pipes underground, one would think there could be catchment systems instead and growing crops along the length of it, roads. How we as a species get stuck to a single idea and repeat it till our end, something to behold in real time.

In theory that sounds amazing but it doesn't take into account oil, diesel, petrol & other automotive runoff that sadly lands in our waterways not does it take into account the nanoparticles and plastics from tyre wear & general plastic waste. Not sure how or even if, it would be possible to screen these out under your suggestion.

Very inspiring talk. I am about to start my journey into Permaculture, and hope to educate others in the near future.

I would love to set up a demonstration site in West Africa. And to be able to do that in 3 years sounds fantastic. Where to find this plan? And how to find a start up funding?

I wish Geoff would come out to my property some time. 4 acres of relatively flat, compacted clay soil.

+Satan Himself get a machine that slices 7 inches into the soil, go up and down, plant ground cover seeds everywhere, let it grow, mow it down, leave it there, run the machine again but deeper this time, 14 inches, plant ground cover, mow it down, leave it there, repeat, build some organic matter

If its dryland, you need cover crops, collect water, drip irrigation, dryland crops (C4 plants...) and use technologies like imprinting.

Thanks for the comments I have a lot to do up here, sounds like tractor and water collection is first priority.
