Wind of Change (Guitar instrumental)

"Wind of Change" is a power ballad by the West German rock band Scorpions, recorded for their eleventh studio album, Crazy World (1990). The song was composed and written by the band's lead singer Klaus Meine and produced by Keith Olsen and the band. The lyrics were composed by Meine following the band's visit to the USSR at the height of perestroika, when the enmity between the communist and capitalist blocs subsided concurrently with the promulgation of large-scale socioeconomic reforms in the USSR.

An iconic era when the wall came down.I was working in Germany 1970 in the British Army as a midwife, and it was quite an experience to travel through Checkpoint Charlie in an army car to visit the Opera House in the East.Even driving along the Berlin corridor in the allowed time was daunting.I will never forget seeing armed personnel on platforms of rail stations with guns drawn as the train passed through stations in the East without stopping.Thank goodness all that changed later.It certainly opened my eyes as a 23yr old from a free country.Love the music Geoff.
