Dave---GREAT JOB! Just watched this episode, it really struck home when you guys talked about the two veterans from Riverside, NJ. I lived in the next town over and had family members who served in WWII. They both served in the ETO and survived thank goodness. I am so impressed with the work of DPAA. I visited "The Puchbowl" a year ago--so sad but all the rosettes are a testament to the difficult and tedious work DPAA performs on a daily basis. Thanks for what you are doing to immortalize these heroes.

Thanks for this presentation. My dad was with Patton's 90th Inf in Europe. But I have read on the Pacific War. I lived in Japan for a few years and my wife is Japanese. They have monuments all over to that war. I consider your guest's work and yours a living monument and thank you to our guys who gave themselves in that war. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely essential information and discussion. This is fantastic service to young men who stepped up for their country and the families who were never able to properly say goodbye. Bless you.

Great Brief, Bravo Zulu.. Tragic about the locations on Guadalcanal and especially Betio of so many remains and their locations being lost.

Good job Dave. I a new to your channel. I really enjoy your style of story telling. Plus your a former marine. Keep up the great videos. Thanks also Dave, for allowing me to “visit” Guadalcanal with a professional guide.

The number of missing in action men from WWII and Korea dwarfs the better known Vietnam numbers. My grandpa was in the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea and was wounded. The only thing he ever told my dad was “we were overrun, I was hit, and I was left behind. It was very cold and a few days later some guys found me.” I googled his name in college and found out he was wounded when the Chinese entered the war in November, 1950, when a lot of MIAs were killed. He was lucky.

I loved this episode, and the informal nature of the discussions between you two. Looking forward to more shared episodes in the future. I’ve always been interested in the work of the GRS and DPAA. The logistics and undertaking, then and now, are remarkable and (I feel) under-appreciated. Your combined analysis and putting together the clues is appreciated. I go to Punchbowl a few times a year to pay my respects. In September I’m headed to Section F, Grave 380, unknown, as indicated for the potential resting place of Private Rhodes.

This was a very good interview and I very much enjoyed the interaction between you both. I actually really liked the honest unpolished way that this was conducted. I've considered in recent years telling the story of the POW/MIA bracelet from the Vietnam war that I wore faithfully until he was recovered in 1998. At his funeral in 2001 I met his sister after it and took off the bracelet and placed it upon her wrist. To this day I wear a stainless KIA bracelet for him that his sister sent me. This video you guys made has me thinking not only my story of the bracelet should likely be told, but telling his story, saying his name will as you said, keep his memory alive. Really well done both of you, much respect.

This was well done. I like going straight into the history and stories. I like the map overlays. When I read history I always break out Google maps to put a location on the story. Great job on a tough, sad, subject.
