One of the best gardening television presenters there has ever been, alongside Geoff Hamilton.

Only just discovered him after someone said he was their favorite gardener so looked on youtube and found this great video , when i saw him i could remember my dad watching geoffrey in the 70s when i was a kid i think the world was a much better place back then watching geoffrey makes the world a happier place . Many thanks 👌👍

This is wonderful. I haven't really watched Geoff Smith before. This has got to be from the 80s as he looks so young here. Thanks for sharing.

Digging a trench. Skimming the weeds right into the trench. I’ve never seen that done. I’m the worst at planting a straight line. He makes it look easy and so much common sense. Thanks for sharing.

Inspiration for me as a young lad watching look north and an interest in growing vegetables…. Proper gardening

Absolutely brilliant. So much knowledge and skill. OK some of it has been lost to time but nice to see a lack of chemicals used despite the era. I was growing up then and remember double digging our garden after we'd bought the house. My dad taught me well. Very interesting to see what techniques have stood the test of time and those that have passed by, He was a brilliant gardener.

I've taken to shaking my seeds with rooting powder, a dusting in envelop or small jar. Give 'em that extra grow push.
@seanjamescameron8 ай бұрын
Interesting, will try that.

@@seanjamescameron I've also wanted to try using 'willow water', used to root cuttings as you know, for watering the trays and seedlings. Haven't had the opportunity though.

and now its pigeons around us that decimate any brassicas, they werent an issue in the 80s

Ah yes! The great Geoffrey Smith. I think the trench digging method is not so much in favour these days and I certainly couldn't scrape off the weeds or dig with a spade. My soil is far too clay and full of flints. I wish my soil looked like his did.
