I heard kites as a sophomore in High School. I had just got a new member of my family at the time, my dog Jena. She just passed away recently. It's really hard for me to wake up without her and this was the music we first headed out on our walks together. I have lost a lot over the course of 2021 including people but that dog was my world. All I can do is come back here and remember her. I know Mike went through an extremely rough period when putting this album together and I can relate to it more than words could tell
