Greenland is something really special for me. I dreamed about this place for years when I finally had a chance to go there in 2011 and stay for almost 6 months. I am looking forward to go back there since it stole my heart and made me genuinely miss the place. Also I am quiet lucky that I happened to be there just before smartphones became a part of our lives and seeking for answers most of the times meant to actually go outside and explore the outdoors rather than searching that online. I had a chance to experience the Eastern part of the island which is more remote than Western part of Greenland. Breathtaking landscapes everywhere. Thank you for this video.

I saw Greenland from a plane returning from Iceland to Canada. Looking at a globe, I could tell ahead of time that it would fly over. My jaw dropped when I saw it. Even from so high up, the mountains looked gigantic and had so much depth to them. There were countless glaciers carving the mountains out, and then further inland the mountains are _completely buried_ under snow. It's incredible. And so bright; I understand how snow blindness is a real hazard now.

Paul you should go to the Caucasus region!
@KofteG617 жыл бұрын
Joseph McCusker Yes, the Caucasus is such a beatiful region. Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, North East Turkey and parts of Russia. All so close, but yet so different.
@gnawershreth7 жыл бұрын
Depending on where you want him to go there, it's not necessarily safe. He could visit Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan I guess as long as he stays out of the contested zones. :P

Hey I have a question since you were in Greenland did your passport get stamped as Denmark or does Greenland have a separate stamp from Denmark
@GeographyNow7 жыл бұрын
Good question! I actually didn't get it stamped at all! Literally just in and out of the airport. Zip and done. I was a little disappointed actually. Lol.

Geography Now Another question is Greenland a member of the E.U because its like owned by Denmark, or is it not a member of the E.U since its in North America ?
@user-se8mi2io1v7 жыл бұрын
Moth City Police Department Actually, they have had the referendum about Greenland's status in the EU. In that referendum Greenlanders decided to leave EU but to be a part of Denmark. It is actually a good way for North Ireland to deal with Brexit, that is why I know this information.

Ay Barbs this is awesome! I'm South Florida born and raised but went to Longyearbyen on Svalbard this past January/February. The larger communities of the high arctic are like nothing else and it has been my goal (and even more so now after watching this) to get out to Nuuk, Barrow, Iqaluit, and a whole bunch of others to really understand life in these places and capture their essence and what makes them so special. Thanks for the ongoing inspiration; its great to see someone else get so giddy over the tundralands! Maybe I'll catch ya out there one day!
