The lowest elevation in Europe yet tallest people in the world. Welcome to the land that...MAKES its own land. The place where water is your biggest enemy and friend. Plz. The real reason Dutch are so tall, is all the short people drowned.
@esch4510
@esch4510 5 жыл бұрын
All jokes aside, this could actually be a plausible explanation. Dutch ancenstors used to live in huts build up high, because their lands were constantly flooding. Tall people would have survived most incidents of flooding because of their length, therefore natural selection occurs. Small evolutionary changes to humans like that can happen over the span of a few thousand years.
@VinyZikss
@VinyZikss 5 жыл бұрын
@@esch4510 Dude, the difference between other european countries and netherlands is around 4,5,6 cm. This is not a huge height difference to influence people's survival in a flood... The only natural selection here is the smart ones would get out and the dumb ones would stay and die. Also, europe as whole is tall, mostly scandinavia (like Norway, the average height there is 1.83 If i'm not mistaken) so it has nothing to do with flooding....

Hello, I just wanna share some stories about my grandfather who is a veteran and grandfather's friend who is a veteran Dutch soldier. He ever told me about his struggles when he was still under colonialism. at that time he was caught by the dutch army and after interrogation he was allowed to go home. when he was detained and interrogated, there was a dutch soldier, he was very nice. he brought my grandfather went home at that time. After many years of independent Indonesia, when my grandpa saw the Dutch people who are on pilgrimage at the Dutch cemetery, he talked with them in Dutch because he was fluent in Dutch. maybe at that time the Dutch army who helped my grandfather heard the news in the Netherlands so he visited Indonesia. After that they met again and they became best friends until now. The Dutch veteran also visits Indonesia every year in August to carry out the commemoration of Indonesia's independence. But now he has died. My grandfather is really sad because he has passed away. Im also sad because he was very good to my grandfather and also to me.and now my grandpa also passed away. but I'm sure they must have been happy there:').thanks for read this.always spread kindness and love

@Friendly Neighborhood Neocon bicycles are a very ecological and convenient kind of transport, and in the Netherlands bicycle roads are almost everywhere in cities and towns. And if you need to go to another city, you can just use a train. So, in the Netherlands you can simply live without a car and have no troubles:)

This was an excellent video! My Oma actually lived in the Netherlands during WWII, and she met my grandfather there, who was serving for the Canadian military. If you ever heard stories about the "Dutch war brides," my Oma was one of them. About the music section, one artist of note (no pun intended) is Tom Holkenborg, aka Junkie XL, aka that guy who remixed that Elvis Presley song in the early 2000s. While his early work fused EDM with rock & metal, he went on to make music for video games and movies, including Scooby-Doo, Deadpool, the Sonic The Hedgehog movies, and several films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Little correction at 6:45: the sand plots aren't naturally occurring. They are in fact a consequence of over grazing. The Dutch farmers used to used a system called the "potstal" system whereby they would seasonally move caddle from the lower regions to the higher regions ("higher" meaning like three meters). The south of the Netherlands has a lot of loose sand in the ground and the over grazing as well as extreme furtilization from caddle waste led to the creation of these sand dunes. When left alone nature does reclaime them over time but they are actually a really cool place for hiking and internal tourism so now they are maintained.

Netherlands is the most beautiful country I’ve even been to 🇳🇱❤️ people there are so polite, and they always loved to help us find our destinations and all that stuff. I’ve also noticed that they are very open minded and they support every type of choice/lifestyle ❤️ I’ve been to Amsterdam twice and I’m going again this summer 😀 can’t wait 🙌🏼 Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷 💙
