in Norway, cars with green signs are like storage or work cars while all other cars have white signs

And while you would probably not confuse the two: but in the Netherlands, car trader's cars that have not been licensed officially yet have green license plates. (for making test drives, for instance).

Also its really common to have street sign in Finland with Finnish on the top and Swedish on the bottom. Usually these types of street signs are in or near from cities and villages. Edit: also in Finland street signs can also end in ”katu” ”polku” ”rinne” etc.

Great video! Another way to differentiate these countries is by signs. Speed limit signs and most other circular or triangular signs are white with a red border in Norway and Denmark, while in Sweden, Finland and Iceland they have a yellow background.

Norwegian here. The green licence plate os only for cars with only front seats. The standard is white, just like most of Europe. Other colors are possible like ambassador cars which will have a blue plate. That will only be in Oslo I think.

Great video and tips again! Another way I use to help identify Finland is that seemingly when it looks Nordic and has gen 2 camera, it seems to be Finland a lot. Of course this isn't foolproof as both Sweden and Norway have gen 2 as well, but it seems like Finland has a lot more of it.

Yes, the solid white line is the most common type in Norway. Long dashed edge lines indicate the road is up to 1 meter narrower than the standard width of 7 meters. Green plates signify Company vehicles without back seats and are exempt from sales tax. (It's a flawed idea, I know. Company vehicles often need back seats to transport employees, especially in trades like carpenters, plumbers, and electricians. But that's the situation in Norway for you - a kleptocracy). Bollards are mandatory on Norwegian public roads.

In Svalbard, Barentsburg looks TOTALLY different from Longyearbyen. It was a Russian concession and the buildings are all Russian. I took a look at it, and it has two apartment complexes that appear to contain basically all the population, one red and one blue, in the modern Russian "Legoland" style. Three or four smaller buildings are old Soviet ones, maybe from the Stalin area.

Thanks, Great video! But you can actually find big mountains in Sweden and you don't have to be super close to the Norwegian border to find them. Most of the mountain roads in Sweden are small and doesn't have google street view coverage, but some of them do. You can't rule out Sweden just because you see big mountains.

In my opinion it’s time to let Estonia be a nice small Nordic country. Estonia very deserves to be a Nordic country, because Estonia has done a lot of work, we have many smart people, we are good at digital things, we have northern lights and we are very similar to Finland and other Nordic countries like: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Greenland. We are not similar to Latvia and Lithuania and the other Eastern Europe countries. It’s time to stop calling Estonia Eastern Europe country and Baltic country and forget all this terrible, rude and mean Soviet times. Let’s just stop this Eastern Europe and Soviet stigma thing and let Estonia turn the new page and let them be a normal small Nordic country next to Sweden and Finland!!! Estonians call themselves the Nordic country and many other people and tourists had also said that Estonia should be a Nordic country, because Estonian people are Finnic people not Balts and we are more similar to Scandinavia. Yes many people had agreed with that Estonia must belong to the Nordic group and seperate from Latvia and Lithuania. They don’t even need these countries, because Estonians communicate more with Finns and other Scandinavian countries. Estonia will be a very good partner for the other Nordic countries. We will do a very great work and we will be very strong!!! ☺️🙏
