lots of serpentinite hills covered with grass trees on the Jimna range between Kilkivan and to Kandanga. Copper gold and other metals were mined on the north side in the serpentinite. Maybe I'm wrong but i guess most copper and gold had its genesis in a neighbouring porphyrytic body

Yes! I have done some mapping there. Grasstrees work very well!

@@GeologyUpSkill Wow ... I thought there was a fair chance you'd been there Nick. Lots of potential there too because you can get around reasonably well on foot (compared to other places in the region). I've continued recreational IRG prospecting in far more adventurous places, extremely rugged and covered in dense jungle. Places that should be protected from highly destructive activity but somehow remain not so. Anyhow I have found two places now with very coarse gold (pieces > 5g), one on an intrusive totally unknown to any mining and one far removed from historic workings but related to a historically productive intrusive. These are untouched. But I would be mad beyond belief if modern mining (removing a mountain) were allowed to proceed in such places which are environmentally highly significant. In fact its my fear that one day this could happen because such places 50km or so away are currently still being prospected by listed companies. I would love to see some young men be allowed in there using older methods of artisinal mining which can leave enviro values in place. This was achieved in the past, it can be done again. There are types of young men who thrive on these challenges, you can see them popping up on youtube etc. However I think the regulation might be too burdensome these days for most small miners. I met some department men near a mine where we were seed collecting over a decade ago. They were physically inspecting a small claim held by a couple whose son was in the mine dept. They all agreed their processes were too much for most small operators to contend with. If I was the king of this country I'd soon change that. Its my contention that our young people need every opportunity to engage directly with "nature". I'd be attaching some education around these environ. values to the licensing for commercial activity.

Hola amigo, me gustan mucho tus videos. Es posible algún vídeo de iocg?

No he trabajado en muchos de esos. ¡Si lo hago, ciertamente haré algunos videos!

love this guy, love your videos I like how they all end with something like "that's where the ore bodies will be" wish I could get your perspective on some aspects of my mining claim in Arizona!

Haha, that perspective took me 40 years to acquire. I'm making these videos so others can follow in my footsteps a little faster!

These ulltramafic gossans get a lot more interesting when they are black, and the silica goes to green chalcedony. Cheers!

Yep. Green is good!

U should tell us what an Ultramafic rock is. I’ll look that up, as well.

It's mostly serpentinite in this area, but probably started out as a dunite before being altered to serpentine minerals.

Is that ultramafic goasans is listwanite body?!
@GeologyUpSkill Жыл бұрын
Those outcrops probably don't have enough carbonate overall to qualify as listwanite. The majority is serpentinite. I suspect the patches of carbonate represent alteration of small lenses of dunite.
