i am a beginner ,i get annoyed because when i use a ink pen / fine liner and a ruler the ruler get ink on it and smudges the paper.the pens are not cheap ones.

You need a permanent pen whose ink dries almost instantly, or you need to prepare something like a cloth and wipe the ink off the ruler after each drawing.
