Fun fact: After selecting any of the first 3 chests and going to the fourth page, the key icon changes to a golden key. This is likely a bug as the fourth page in the previous menu is the golden key chest, which changes the key in the top right too.

It's because of the Appstore and Playstore reviewing system. Basically you have to get your game verified each time you want to update your game, even if it's for the smallest things. Plus Mobile players are very important to the game's history (It was where the OG versions of the game were developed, which is why you can't run pre-1.9 private servers on PC)
