Awesome content! Very interesting fish with their sharp angles from head to body, as you mention they are so different from the Brazilian Geophagus groups that they should be their own genus. I got to see Pellegrini at a LFS a couple months ago, they were captive fish imported from Colombia, they are similar in shape.

How do i get this one over to Sweden Geo, chigordo ? A fantastic fish.

I think a lot of these only come once, because the habitats are remote places.

how many red humps in a 125? see I found your other vid and brought more questions lol i had three in a 125 community tank once, all females though, they were rescues, they last about 4 years with me, the kinda fought often though
@belowwater Жыл бұрын
I would always have a group of 10 - 12, mostly females, it cuts down on aggression.

hi thanks for the video. pretty amazing indepth share. I managed to find some pellegrini in a LFS and they are gorgeous. I bought 5 juv with 2 male and 3 female. but one male who has a big nucal hump is a major bully and wants all females and literally kicks the crap out of any other male i throw in here (i have swaped once so far). do you think i have too less females? if i swap another male and add another female would that allow them to get along? basically 2 males and 4 females??
@belowwater2 жыл бұрын
G.pellegrini need huge aquariums, and the tank should be crowded so they do not damage each other.

these geos are pretty aggressive. my steindachneri has to live alone in a 60 litre with a pleco and an apple snail
@cwb-aqua-profi Жыл бұрын
Hi, Geophagus and Pleco in 60l ? They are not dwarf-cichlids/catfish. Put them in 600l and it will work.😉
@amazingaquaticsandexotics3030 Жыл бұрын
@@cwb-aqua-profi it was originally in a 250l tank with other cichlids but it attacked all the cichlids and the 60l is the only tank i have for it. currently its 6 inches long and personally i feel comfortable with having him alone in there with adequate water parameters and caves [ now there are no other tank mates apart from 2 african cichlid fry which will be removed in a few weeks]. thats not to say that i wont rehome him if he continues to grow
