Geoplex - Stellar (Space Pulse OST)

Hey everyone! This is a commissioned track for Last Abyss's rhythm game, Space Pulse! The game is still in development and won't be finished for a while, but I'm able to share some of the tracks I've made for the game with you. "Stellar" is the first level of the game, so this track is really relaxed, simplistic, and chill. I also uploaded another one just now, Impulse, which is more aggressive and fun. I'm gonna be uploading another Space Pulse song next week too, and then it'll be back to regular songs. I have some big orchestral/edm stuff planned. Oh yeah, please don't use any Space Pulse songs in your videos/etc. Sorry to have to make that rule but because they are commissioned tracks, the rights to them are owned by Last Abyss.

Ok, this piece is one I have been dreaming of for a long time. The way the notes transition, the general tone of the music, all fits the "floating in space" vibe so perfectly, while keeping the upbeat chirpiness that makes your songs so catchy. The only song I can compare this to is Drift, for how chill it is. Overall, incredible piece! The first listen distracted me too much for me to describe it. It was that good. XD

one question Geoplex, do you make music while using headphones or do u have production speakers? Because when i make music i use headphones and then it sounds awful on normal speakers lol, some advice would be very much appreciated! (i have production speakers tho but i dont like to plug them in xd)

Hey man! I primarily use headphones - but there are a few reasons your music might sound worse on speakers. Phasing issues: there's a concept called "mono compatibility" which relates to any stereo audio data. When you turn two channels of audio (stereo) into one channel (mono), there will be some amount of "destructive interference" that occurs. Obviously your production speakers won't be mono, but because they exist in an imperfect physical environment, the sound from each of them will interact with one another and with the room itself (reflecting off walls, etc) which can result in some destructive interference. This might be most noticeable in your low-end/bass. I don't have the time to properly explain this concept but some googling of terms like "mono compatibility" "phase cancellation" "destructive interference" might answer any questions you have :p Transients (sudden sounds, like drum hits) tend to sound different on speakers, in part because of the way the sound interacts with the room (reflections). it's also the case that your speakers will of course have a different frequency response to your headphones (think of it like a different EQ on the speakers) and so things will sound different through them that way as well. It's important to reference your music on different systems and make sure that it sounds acceptable to you on all of them (within reason). But I wouldn't stress about it too much, unless the results on other systems are extremely bad, which might suggest some listening biases on your end when it comes to how you perceive your music in headphones (OR that the speakers are terrible! :p which is why you should always test on multiple systems). Hope I helped :)
