Tracklisting 1. 00:00 [Demo 5] 2. 5:11 [Demo 4] 3. 10:02 [Demo 3] 4. 16:52 (cut) 5. 19:42 [Demo 1] 6. 26:12 [Demo 2] (cut) - same track repeats twice 7. 31:52 8. 37:06 9. 49:11 [Demo 10] 10. 54:37 [Demo 9] - same track repeats twice 11. 1:09:45 [Demo 8] 12. 1:16:07 [Demo 7] 13. 1:20:02 [Demo 6] I don’t know where the audio comes from; the only information is disclosed in the title, mentioning 2009 as either the recording or original uploading date. Nevertheless, there is another playlist containing 10 of the same demos: kzbin.info/aero/PLFD7F4B654D298C44. They were allegedly snatched from Geordie’s former Myspace page and are identical; therefore, in spite of different dating, order as well as 3 additional songs, I would assume they come from the same source. I’ve noted the equivalent numbering beside each song between brackets [i.e. Demo #]. Songs 4 & 6 cut abruptly at the end, don’t know whether they have been edited in retrospect or if the source file was already that way. Notwithstanding, I would wager the latter option: it seems it has been downloaded as a single track encompassing all the songs, as all the other songs fade into the next. Wish there was a better quality version of these. I’ve found myself listening to these demos regularly over the years and I haven’t gotten tired of them! Enjoy the listing 💙

Many of these demos are double tracks or maybe more, but it doesn't detract from the symphonic dissonance of the greatest rhythmic guitar player of all time.
@TobiasC-mg4zk9 ай бұрын
It’s amazing how Geordie can be described as a rhythm guitarist because he never noodles or even tries to copy the typical lead playing style. He’s the opposite of the archetypal wanker guitarist who plays Clapton and EVH licks. He got his guitar to sound symphonic. It’s a testament to his genius that serious players like Jimmy Page respect his body of work despite his almost total lack of “lead” parts.

@@raymondwilliams2609 You also have to tune down a whole step so the guitar is in D not E.
@TobiasC-mg4zk9 ай бұрын
Any big hollow body jazz box with a P90 in the bridge position and preferably a trapeze style tail piece will get you in the ballpark. Tune to D-standard. The challenge then is to play loud and with enough saturation without feeding back like a stuck pig! Stereo rig guitar amp setup is another way to get a wide and immense sound that he trademarked.

Together they are the drive behind one of the most underrated subversive bands of the 20th century, the collection known as Killing Joke! Drink it in people, this is the beginning of the end, and has been since the legend that was released in ‘81. That was Requiem!

Call it what you like. It’s its own thing. I’m not sure if Georgie was the first axe wielding maniac to use the palm muted chugging technique but many earlier metal players copied his technique. It’s ubiquitous today in thrash metal styles but it wasn’t before KJ.
