I just picked up lace top knickers from Asda this week, so comfy! I highly recommend Sainsburys Tu clothing and underwear. Their knickers are really good quality, much better than Simply Be

For good solid underwear try bigbloomers - they’re the equivalent of snags but in knickers, you won’t EVER look elsewhere for underwear again. They are ‘expensive’ but read the backstory, it’s beautiful, they’ve worked their way up from nothing & have worked extensively with plus size women to bring them what they need. They’ve even sent me freebies in the past when I’ve been stuck on sizing etc (old stock). They sell tights, knickers, pull on comfort bras, i get the ‘all women seamless knickers’ - I haven’t worn anything else for years! They have a cotton gusset, but if you’re wanting all cotton knickers they sell those too 😁 just a heads up in case you or your mum ever wanted to try them xx

Amalia here. So glad you covered undies. Will you please come back to us regarding the £6 pack please? The size looks great BUT the gusset looked really too narrow. You know me with my bug bears, well that's one of them. Larger women have a larger crotch area to cover and designers don't seem to realise this. I really want to hear what you think. Thanks Becky.

I love sage green.. Havent been to Asda for a while.. I really like browsing through all the rails and would rather shop instore when i can tbh.. I like the smell of all the new clothes.. Becky I bought a pack of 5 midi briefs from Asda in black just a few weeks ago. I always used to get them from M & S. Mine are size 18 (and not over generous) - not sure if they do them any bigger. I was so pleased to find them as I'm short from my waist to crotch so full briefs bury me but I don't find bikinis or high legs very comfortable. They seem to wash as well as M & S.

Try simply be for bras :) i have the same issue im about the same size a you but my bust us a 46B and trying yo find any bras in thats size is basiclsly impossible! I get all mine from simply be! Also Morrisons do larger underwear in all different styles :)

I really share your frustration Becky regarding bras and the assumption that everyone who needs a larger band size has big bazoomas and needs a larger cup size. Even in my 20s when I was wearing a 36 and a 38 in my 30s it wasn't so easy to get smaller cup sizes. It would irritate me to see "ĺook a whole cup larger" padded bras, or the "shove them together and hoick them upwards to get more cleavage" styles available in a 38DD but not in a 38A or B. It seemed to me that the A & B girls were much more in need of these styles than the DD, E, & F girls, and it didn't feel fair. I used to wear M&S bras many years ago but haven't worn theirs for years; they don't seem to be the right shape for me nowadays. They seem to work on a system of half lemons, oranges, half grapefruits, whole grapefruits etc whereas I am more of a poached egg! If I get a wire that fits my breast there is too much fabric in the cup, more out-front-ness than I need. If I try a smaller cup size then the wire is too small and causes pinching, which is no use. I probably have more Asda bras than anyone else's these days as I can usually get a 42C or D off the rack in store. Another thing is that the general shape of bras has changed quite significantly since I was in my 20s & 30s (I am closer in age to your Mum than you, Becky). They used to be more triangular in shape, with the straps coming from the top of the triangle and they didn't slide off your shoulders. Now they are generally more of the balconette or scallop-shape with the straps set wider, more at the outer edges of the cup. I find the straps slip off my shoulders all the time because they are at the outer edges of my shoulders rather than the centres ie the "nearly-groove" where the shoulder strap of a handbag rests naturally. Ask your Mum - I bet she'd agree! Apologies for such a long, ranting comment, but clearly this was the opportunity I've needed to get all this off my chest (pun definitely intended). I work in science and it is a standing joke within my circle that it is a natural trait of us sciencey types to over-analyse everything in our quest to work stuff out and understand why things are the way they are.
