This is so heartbreaking. My brain is still trying to process this sad news. George was a genuinely talented player, with a great likeability, and was a solid defensive player. He was a stand-out player for the Blades who was always industrious on the pitch. This news is very hard to take. Sending deepest condolences to his family. It's the most tragic of news. An athlete in seemingly top physical condition dying so young. He played most of the game against Olympiacos at the weekend as well, this has come completely out of the blue - GH

I was sad to see him leave United, but going to a great club like Panathinaikos seemed like a match made in heaven. So tragic he only got a few games in Greece 😢
