Have the album and played this today before finding this on KZbin. Had given away most of my LPs last year except for a few treasures such as this.

I love this !!!! I first heard it in 1971 or so, and I have only just found it again after all these years....and I still love it... never in a million years did I think at that time that I would have the pleasure to meet Bucky Pizzarelli and yet I did in about 2007 when I was in New York ... what a beautiful duo, Bucky and George Barnes ... I love all these great players.... we all learn from them, we all owe so much to these great players..... THANKS.

Happy to bring it back to you, Tony! I'm lucky that, as George's daughter, I was there for the last 23 years of Dad's extraordinary career. And I am delighted to be producing The George Barnes Legacy Collection (georgebarneslegacy dot com), which is receiving an incredible, gratifying response from guitar players and fans of all ages around the world. Musical excellence never goes out of style, does it?

I was at this show--which also included John McLaughlin, George Benson, Chuck Wayne, and some others. It was a great night of guitar. But George Barnes singing tone and energy on guitar with Bucky was the big revelation for me that night.

George Barnes and Bucky Pizzarelli as a combo fit like hand and glove. Great players. And George Barnes just had this natural swing and lilt to his playing that seemed effortless.

My dad and I bought "The guitar album" when it came out. Charlie Byrd was pretty good, but Bucky and George were outstanding. Head and shoulders above the rest. In fact, i think Bucky was at his best when pairing with George. Anyway, i really loved all 7 of the songs they played and learned a lot of Georges stuff, but really nailed "Here, There, and Everywhere" in Georges style. So when i met Bucky at his home in Saddle River NJ in 74 we played that one together. What a fun sound it was! He did a couple solo numbers, and then a duet with Mary (the song she played on the "green guitar blues" album, and when i left his house that day i decided.. I have to get me a 7 string guitar! and i did. Now i have 2 of them.

That’s a great story, Dean! Wasn’t Bucky a lovely guy? I knew him most of my life, and did an interview with him in 2009 that I’ll be releasing via The George Barnes Legacy Collection soon...stay tuned!

@@lacheraqui Bucky was a very personable friendly sort. But of course for all guitar players, he contributed some wonderful ideas and sounds that add to the guitar repertoire and tool box of good to know techniques! Magnificent player!

I have had this album since it first came out. Of course, already a huge fan of the Beatles, but when I heard this..I was hooked. The tone of these two guitarists was captured perfectly.

Bucky told me several years ago that this was McCartney's favorite cover of this song...I completely agree with Paul!

For me, the medley is..the best renditions of Beatles songs. Let’s face it, many have tried and many have come very close...but these are pure genius!

Dig the double stop string bending! The first one at 2:29.

He certainly was a master of bending...and arpeggios, and everything else one can do on a guitar...which is, if you ask me, certainly in evidence here!

Sorry to say, the only thing I heard to the point of deafening was the llllooonnngg aplause. After that I had to strain what was left of my eardrums to hear 2 of my all time favorite guitarists. SSSHHHHHIIIIPPP!!!!
