Nice to see Roy castle on aspel and company talk show. Very funny man in carry on up the Khyber as a soldier gone but never forgotten. George Cole is funny as well they're both great actors. I have seen Dr terrors house of horrors in which Roy castle appears as a songwriter and musician in aforementioned film.

Roy Castle was good here, knowing all this old English culture makes a more mature interview than the ones we have now, both men seem at ease with their backgrounds.

Loved Minder growing up in the 1980s, and the dodgy dealings of Arthur Daly and his underpaid minder Terry . brilliantly written and terrific character acting made this such a hit and gave the country a lift during the Thatcher years.....British comedy/ drama at it best.

He was at the height of his fame back then. I agree with all those who say he should be knighted. It's long overdue and he's 88 now. Maybe we should get a petition going?

Well done Dennis, George Cole was a Great Guy, how he was never Sir George Cole I do not know, to me he is Sir George Cole. A wonderful man and actor. The 2 of you in Minder was Great such a great partnership. Rest in Peace Mr Cole

I'm not aware of the huge amount of charity work, Free services and after dinner speeches he gave or his work changed the course of acting for the better of the industry. The kind of things that one needs to do to have their name put forward for a knighthood. I think as far as charity work and doing good for the benefit of others, Roy Castle towers over George Cole, but he wasn't knighted

He actually came from a working class London background [the illegitimate offspring of a hotel manager and a 16 year old maid - immediately put up for adoption] and left school around 14. I seem to recall that he got elocution from his mentor Alastair Sim.

I'm from near Peckham in that era and never took to Del Boy and Co at all even though I love David Jason. Minder was a Masterclass in Acting and Wriying...

Would Daley make the big time and would Del Boy become a millionaire? Very similar questions and themes, we found the answer to one of those questions.
