Actually pretty sure I watched this live in 1960. Staying in my uncle's house in Headingley, everyone was out except me. I watched the whole programme and have never forgotten it. Many thanks for putting this up.

Not quite the last words. His wife died a few days after this, and he got engaged to a young schoolteacher Pat Howson, daughter of the local car-dealer, who had supplied the Formbys with many of their top-level cars. There is a clip of Formby with Pat.

The first part where George says thank you and good bye is brilliant and so terrificly nice but the Karaoke version seems a little cheap and tacky and just a little insulting to the great man's memory...
