Have enjoyed listening to Galloway shoot down all types of nuts over the years. Fantastic debater and brilliant speaker. I've agreed with him on many topics. But on Zimbabwe he is so utterly wrong on such simple subject that I fear for the man's sanity. George what the hell is going on with you?

Well done. A properly researched piece on Robert Mugabe and Zimbabwe.

I have minimal education and I am white British, but as a father I have one ultimate point that has been missed when talking about Robert Mugabe which cannot be left out. During imprisonment, His 3 year old son died of Encephalitis and his appeal to visit his wife and mother of the child and attend the funeral was denied. This one reason alone, not to mention the astronomical amount of other reasons, Is where I can understand the anguish, hatred and darkness took half the man/soul away. The Racist elements of colonization (although you could say it was all racist) are to blame for issues of tyranny in any part of the world

I had not known this detail, thank you very much for having revealed it to me. I totally stand with your objective opinion here, thank you again for your informing comment, it's rare to see comments from where one can really learn something, thank you again for having provided us with one. Have a great day!

Many factual error and completely one eyed. Ignored Thatcher treacherous behaviour and the lies the Brits told to the people of Rhodesia.

interesting take, and George is right, Robert Mugabe was a darling of the West who only turned on him when he went after the elite and other small white farmers. But I encourage people to check out Mark Curtis, a superb and underrated British historian, his book "Web of Deceit: Britain's real role in the world" and looking as declassified files Mugabe for a time was hired goon by the UK to help steal the congo's resources and help out other neighboring countries scramble for Congo when the Rwandan-Ugandan backed coup and mess after Mobutu took place. Mugabe was animal farm in the end and the west sadly will exploit a weak Mugabe once he's really out of office.

Who on here thinks that people who comment on here like Bretton Woods try and acquaint themselves with alternative narratives and fill themselves with knowledge that supports or bolsters their nonsense to give themselves a felling of some kind of self worth and entitlement whilst not taking into consideration the human condition and treat every major issue like a college subject?

I'm wondering if Galloway would have a similar take on that other great enlightened African leader, Uganda's Idi Amin.
@michealkelliher8428 Жыл бұрын
Idi Amin was a completely different creature to Mugabe, don't conflate them, I supported none of them, and neither does Galloway. I give Mugabe credit for having initially tried to do something with Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 back 1980, he then lost the plot.

Mugabe is No Marxist. Zimbabwe certainly no socialist nation.

Initially, back in 1980, it was very much, as nearby Angola and black South Africa with the ANC and socialists fighting the evil Apartheid system.
