Just with the Beethoven’s Waldstein alone, I am already mesmerized by this young man’s ability to differentiate and nuance the various tempi, expressing them with the maturity of someone decades older and has performed this piece countless times. His touch, the sonority of the notes, the lyricism and precision overall is beyond me. He lives his music. No outward sign of stress at all. Pure child play but what child play!

Усовершенствованной с тех пор 17-й сонатой Бетховена, уникальными "русскими интонациями" "Жаворонка" и "Думки", которые и в Калининграде уже "родились" у Вас, и "Исламеем" Вашим, по глубине и радости "обогнавшим" многие, если не ВСЕ известные интерпретации... Впрочем, в отношении радости, возможно, Вы - самый главный "кит" сейчас, из тех, на которых "Земля стоит", и это ещё с колледжа Вашего слышно, со 2-го концерта Рахманинова в очень правильных темпах и совершенно неземным чувством. Не волнуйтесь, это слышат не только добрые простые слушатели, но и некоторые музыкальные профессионалы. Есть и среди профи мнение, что на недавнем конкурсе Чайковского самым важным участником были именно Вы. А другие мнения, не радостные - это как не видеть, что есть сказочный Щелкунчик, а есть полчища Крыс, и когда Щелкунчик скачет сражаться с ними, ни к чему анализировать, как его лошадка ставит свои ножки. Не позволяйте этим анализам "опечалить" Вас, как не позволяли прежде! А в "Петрушке" Стравинского, чудесном здесь, особенный смысл был, кажется, проявлен в Калининграде: не побоюсь даже слов "доброе пророчество". (Что Петрушку, когда выкидывают, жалко, конечно, да иногда - лучше всё-таки выкинуть). С наилучшими пожеланиями...

Полностью согласна с Вами, Дмитрий Степанович. Джордж ворвался в моё сознание, как ураган, со своим финалом Второго концерта Рахманинова, и стало очевидно, что он лучший на этом конкурсе! Позднее, чтобы проверить свои впечатления, я переслушала всех лауреатов, как в записи, так и на концертах - и, без сомненья, искра Божья есть только в Джордже (при всём уважении к остальным талантливым ребятам).
