The Dark Horse album was my first Harrison album and I loved it. When I was younger Paul was my favorite, buy this album changed it. Went out and got All Things Must Pass album...Loved this song!!!!!!!

Absolutely agreed. You'd think they had it in for him. Dark Horse and Extra Texture are unfairly maligned. Songs like Simply Shady and Tired of Midnight Blue are quality. Beautiful pieces of work.

Great lyrics. This song has a lot of significance to me. In fact the lyrics provided me with a personal theme. "A pebble in the ocean Must cause some kind of stir And witnessed by the silence Will reach from here to there The action that I started Some time I'll have to face My influence in motion Rebounding back through space" My first wife had this verse engraved on a gold "dog tag" that I wore around my neck for many years as a reminder that my actions, however insignificant they might seem, send ripples that never stop. And I was able to see George on his US tour. He might have been a bit hoarse but I was happy with the concert. It was my first time to see a live Beatle.

Why Dark Horse receives such criticism, then and now, I will never understand why. There is so much emotion on this album. If you can find that emotion on Venus & Mars or Walls & Bridges, please go to it. But George Harrison, and his songs, speak of an ARTIST. He's not writing things thinking of Billboard or Top of the Pops. He's writing what he feels. And it's in all of his work. It's what every artist should be doing. Writing first for themselves, in the hopes others may feel the same. Or at least like it.

The Dark Horse album was my favorite of all the albums made by George mixing his style of music with jazz as evidenced by the backing of Tom Scott and the L.A. Express.

In retrospect, I think that George should have recorded the whole of the album with Tom Scott and the L.A. Express. It would have enhanced the musical consistency when listening to the album as a whole.

Always loved the Dark Horse album. What's wrong with this track? A great melody and a perfect set of (harrowing) lyrics. It didn't even chart in the UK! Can you believe that? Here in Holland it was a top ten album, just as Ding Dong was a top ten hit single. I love my country!.

Dark Horse album is really worth listening to. It was the other music and artists around at the time that was crap. Take the Bay City Rollers and the middle of the road crap from the USA. Real music didn't stand a chance. George's music will be with us forever.
