George Hunsinger is one of the greatest theologians of our time. His presentation of Karl Barth and Radical Politics introduces many to the social responsibilities inherent in the gospels. Dr. Hunsinger was my professor of theology during my time at Princeton Theological Seminary. I place Hunsinger in the pantheon of theologians such as James Cone, Reinhold Niebuhr, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Dietrich Bonhoeffer in terms of his sensibilities pertinent to contextual theology and social justice. -Dr.Larry Covin

'pantheon of theologians' - some interesting wording there.

You have to admire George's stance and commitment to a Christian Democratic socialism and social justice informed by his lifelong study of Karl Barth.

The comparison with Trump is ludicrous. Now that he is out I wish that would become clear to people like George, but I know it won't. It's particularly funny to see somebody try to use Barth to justify current progressive politics - which is culturally dominant and gives him a nice platform - and talk about "counter culture" at the same time. Progressivism was counter culture in the 60's, George, wake up. You are a professor at Princeton and your views are mainstream now, shared by most university professors in the humanities, not to mention most of the media and even corporations. YOU ARE THE ESTABLISHMENT.

Actually, he's not that wrong on Barth. But they still play the "oppressed minority" (which they never were to begin with, they were just seen as a bit odd), while they actually control virtually all positions of cultural power now. And anyone that call's out their hypocrisy and madness is painted as 'repressive'.
