😅George Jones is and will always be loved by his friends Earl Peanutt and Charlene Montgomery. We miss him so much. Hard to believe he's not here anymore. We talk to his children often and they loved their dad so dad so dearly. Jeffrey recently lost a son, the only grandchild George had that was named after him. It was so sad. Pray for Jeffrey and Sue, they are so sad and have gone through so much. Losing His bad was terrible, now his son. That's a lot to cope with.

My wife and I was at his final show. I actually said it before the show even happened and even after that I felt this might be his last. His health was rapidly declining and I knew it would be soon. What a memorable night it was.

Great stuff guys! Loved George Jones since I was a teenager in high school and now I am over 65. You mentioned the music will live on forever and that is true. I admired George because he messed up and he owned it, he never tried to hide or mislead fans. He spoke the truth even when he wasn't proud of it. Their will never be another one like him! RIP GJ, GP

George was born in Saratoga, Tx, in the same county i live, and was born and raised. I rember as a kid, standing on the side of the road, at a homecoming parage for the local football team, and seeing a tour bus go by, and remember it saying NO SHOW on the front of it, i didnt know what it meant, but was told that was George Jones bus!! He had a concert that night in Beaumont, Tx with fellow hometown singer Mark Chessnutt. And just for further info, Clay Walker and Tracy Byrd are from the local area too.

I saw Jones twice in WV. First time I got locked up in the Boone county jail on the way home for, uh, well,……being drunk! Second time was in Beckley, made it home without blue lights in my rear view lol. I’m glad Jones found the Lord in his latter years, I too made the commitment to the Lord. Hope I get to see him one day in glory.

Maybe you are somewhat right about George feeling guilty about missing some of his concerts back in the day. I was excited to see him here in Athens County Ohio, where he was scheduled to play many years ago and didn’t make it. I certainly never held it against him. How many of us back in our younger days, skipped work or school to do other things. People need to remember that our pleasure was his work. I couldn’t even imagine how many millions of miles that he traveled. And the hundreds of hours standing under those hot lights singing his music. I think all those things together just made him the guy that we all loved.Thank you George Jones.

It's very hard to narrow it down to just one but I'd have to say he was the greatest voice of all time in country music. What's that, how do you spell country? That's easy, J-O-N-E-S.

We’ve all covered Jones’ tunes. His songs helped fill setlists around the world. There is only 1 George Jones. Many people have tried to emulate him,but he’ll NEVER be duplicated. I actually go to church with a man that very much resembles George and sings like him.He met Nancy and George’s sister. There was going to be a movie with my friend but someone bought the movie rights before it was finished. We all miss you George,& Thank you for telling it like it is.

Makes me wonder why George didn’t spend his last days with his family and children, he sounded so fragile & weak at the last concert. God Bless him, we still miss him. I only wish he would have seen his children in his last days. I think maybe his relationship with his children was strained. Sadly he didn’t get to be with his children.

Got to see Goerge at the Tache Palace Casino in Lemoore ,Ca.He had a website at the time where you could ask questions via email,i put on there Going to see The Possum now if i can get me an auotograph on my old guitar, his wife Nancy answered and said just go up to that bus knock on the door and Tell Goerge Nancy said Sign that guitar,i could tell even then he wasn't feeling great, little weak on some notes and seemed to get winded easy, but who the hell cares i went to see the best country singer ever and i did and bought a t-shirt while there, that has his picture on Front on the back it says I saw No Show Jones at THE TACHE PALACE IN LEMOORE,Ca.with a list of other concerts he was supposed to hit on tour.Yes and he signed my old guitar,i keep the T-shirt in the case with the guitar,i always carry a clear spray paint to seal the autographs,Merle Haggard Ben Haggard,Noel Haggard,Lorretta Lynn, her daughter Patsy,Willie Nelson,Buck Owens,Bonnie Owens,John McQuen and his son,Nitty Gritty Dirt Band,John Lived in Visalia,Ca. for awhile where i live.Marty Stuart and the fabulous Superlatives all signed my old guitar at Buck Owens Chrystal Palace,in Bakersfield, I live about 60 miles north of Bakersfield.Of Course iceing on the cake is Goerge Jones!

I didn’t think it was just “old no show”. I knew he was dying. I’ve worked with the elderly and I don’t claim to know everything but I know when they’re in there last days and most of them know it too and so did he and every one around him. He shouldn’t have even tried to tour in his condition. There may be a lot of factors involved in the reason he went on tour but I don’t want to “stir the pot” so I’ll be quiet

His drinking was out of control and should have been his demise.. had it not been for his strong constitution. George did quit the bottle ..the drugs, they weren't what got him in the end..He was a smoker and that contributed to his respiratory failure in his last years..I believe.

You’re 100% right. He had COPD from smoking and it eventually killed his lungs. Sad! Otherwise I believe he’s still be singing.
