I like the thought of the Yin Yang Twins loving this song enough to sample much of it into their single, "Shake" ft. Pitbull.

I remember being in kindergarten going to see breaking 2 electric boogaloo at the movies and fell in love with this song and when it came out on VHS I rewind and play the part when this song came on so many times while holding a tape recorder to the TV and made a tape to play in my Teddy Ruxbin it was so cool to watch his mouth move to this song

All i can say is.....HOT, HOT, HOT ! What a freaking masterpiece ! ...i was in Manhattan when this came out in the clubs....What a great time period the early 80's was !
@EbonyPope8 жыл бұрын
+craigathonian I'm a kid of the 80's/90's and the music of these decades is laughable compared to the decades before. Sterile synths and mediocre drumming are the epitome of the 80's. Nothing compared to what John Bonham produced with Led Zeppelin for example.
@craigathonian8 жыл бұрын
+EbonyPope .....?....AND Led Zeppelin would have been thrown in gutter and beaten in the 30 and 40's for offense to the ears ! Music is about expression ....ALL kinds of expression ! You sound like my grandfather....ONLY the singers & bands of HIS period are good....In my book....That's just OLD & living in the past ! Are you old and grey ???
@EbonyPope8 жыл бұрын
Well Led Zeppelin became legendary because of objective reasons. Although taste is subjective there are certain elements that are not and can be compared. Well you are free to express yourself any way you want but that doesn't mean that it will therefore qualify as good music. The 80's were a horrible decade for music, not that the 90's or or recent years are any better. Sterile primitve synthesizer chords paired with abysmal singing and drumming. As I said there are me objective means to measure music and the 80's consist mostly of sub par songs. PS: I'm not old by the way. I'm more a kid of the 90's and only realisized what awful kind of music it produced until my father introduced me to old Jazz and Blues recordings.

Don't live your dad's life, if you think you can judge an entire decades worth of music then you have not heard enough music to criticize. I can name a ton of artists in every decade of recorded music that made great music that reached people in various ways. Go explore.

I think he's gorgeous. he's dressed for the times which sure as hell beat the 70's disco styles (and awful music)
@tuberoyful10 жыл бұрын
I guess y'all are right, but to me the way he dressed I felt was awkward for the type of music he was playing
@BostonHollyAndSnoop10 жыл бұрын
AYAMALACH Hebrewtruth yup, That's how we dressed in those days. We thought we looked so hip (as we also did in the late 60's hahaha) . As I look back I sometimes think that we looked ridiculous- which is a gift of youth. But we looked no more ridiculous than our alter egos all suited -up for corporate life in our calf -warmers, mid-calf skirt lengths, matching suit jackets sporting 3" x 4" shoulder pads (Fullback chic ) and plastic goggles eye wear (my frames were bright red). hahahaha. .
