Great show, I left LA in '96 but I remember Chaka being all over the place, glad he's finally getting his due... The first 30 minutes really resonated with me though. 4 months ago, I made that decision to walk away from the person I love. She didn't cheat on me but she was a chronic liar and an abusive alcoholic. She's also a victim/survivor with severe trauma issues. I tried for nearly 4 years but I couldn't fix her, I even left and came back 25-30 times during her binges until I got to the point where I had to weigh out what was keeping me there, as opposed to retaining my own dignity, self worth and sanity. I cut off all contact back in January. I miss her and I'm still pretty sad but I know things will get better, this isn't the first time for me, I just thought it might be last since I'm 54, ja! what was I thinkin'!?! Sabes que? I just got floor seats for George Lopez LIVE in San Jose in November !!! She ain't going Who wants to go??????

I know exactly how that feels. growing up the family that lived next door, had 4 brothers. the oldest brother married my aunt which was like my older sister. Youngest brother was my best friend. One weekend we spent the night at His bothers and my aunts place. when I was asleep he stole all my jewelry 2 rings, a bracelet and my gold chain. when I woke up he and all my jewelry was gone. I waited at the door, he tried sneaking in I asked where is it, he started to say Wh and I cracked him in the jaw. Down he went got up and ran away. He came back with some of it but they wouldn't give him the chain. I went back with him but they were gone. I know you'll never see this but it felt good to write it down>>>

As an artist, I can comprehend the urge for expression. As a person that went through a tough upbringing… I understand the open scars. I am happy that he was able to survive. 💚💚💚 That being said, it boils my blood to see tagging on public and private property. I love seeing murals of focused, legal art. The skills and artistry in some tagging is so powerful! I hope that anyone that hears, or sees, this podcast understands that illegal tagging is not cool….
